French ambassador: We want Serbia in EU

Even the way the French say "Serb" sounds like an insult. So they want Serbia in the EU? Only a few years ago they wanted to bomb them back to the Stone Age.

Where are the promised reparations from the US and EU for damage caused to bridges, buildings, hospitals, factories etc? Instead of which these countries have used the damage as an excuse to slash prices and buy out business etc.

Disgraceful. I am by no means a little islander Brit and am proud of being European, but I am really having doubts about the whole EU project.

Of course they want Serbia in the EU, you will then be under their control and sphere of influence. That's why they bombed you in the first place, as a country you are too independent and not easily manipulated- can't have that in the new world order. They also don't want an independent free state in the heart of Europe that may decide its best interests lay with Russia, China or India. They could hold carrots in your face and bully when they thought you were on your own, now they'll be begging you to join. I think the Serbs should think long and hard as to whether they want to join this undemocratic organisation and Kouchner should be tried for war crimes, I doubt he has any of Serbia's real interests at heart. You should consider who your real friends are and not be used by others.

Where almost there. I cant wait to be a millionaire, can you belive it? We are all going to get rich, B92 clearly says so. What a dissapointment however if serbs wake up after the election only to find out more demands from Brussels & IMF more unemployment no money and no way to get out....

Kosovo is Serbia. This is the building block to all discussions. This my friends is the only way.

I think the UK should join the Schengen Area and should adopt the Euro. Denmark and Sweden should also adopt the Euro.

Euroscepticism is not good for the UK. It will only isolate the UK.

Right then! Get the finger out now and start working on it today so that Serbia gains EU membership in 2010.
It's not rocket science - there can be no justification for pretentious delays.

Most Europeans see now how silly it was to award membership to certain countries in 2004 that were not ready, economically, socially or politically. Serbia was far more qualified,even then, for membership but was stupidly and arrogantly overlooked.
