The US is dying in Iraq and Afghanistan; the Chinese are becoming the economic empire of the world; Serbia is slowly emerging from the economic abyss the US/EU has thrown it in to try and submit the Serbs; And Russia’s conquest of Europe continues relentlessly and without opposition.

I can only add that Azerbaijan is now much less optimistic about NABUCCO. They sell us their gas. The other day Ilham Aliev was present in Ulianovsk at the opening of a big monument to his late father. Ilham is tired of sponsoring the unpredictable Georgian regime and he was definitely shocked with our blitzkrieg last August. Besides he is not a Russophobe like Saak and Yush.

Turkey also is no longer a reliable ally to both Azerbaijan and the USA. Turks are close to blackmailing EU through the pipelines going around the Ukraine. Still NABUCCO will live for years cause it is it’s not an economical project but rather a political and a military one. The Yankees need a pretext to settle in the Central Asia and NABUCCO is the best explanation for why they are present in South Caucasus.

Cheers Greece !

Nabuco could have been used by Turkey as a blackmailing tool in its ambitions of joining the EU.

This is true. My prediction is that Belarus, Ukraina, Israel will be before Turkey.
And at the moment countries / "provinces" of Western Balkan join - they will unleash their fury less on each other, more on the country responsible for 500 years of misery and for destruction of the entire Balkan peninsula.

If Turkey wants to join EU, their PM should go on Canossa-pilgrimage to Erevan, Kiev, Tbilisi, Bucuresti, Tirana, Skopje, Belgrade, Athens, Sofia, Budapest, Vienna on monthly basis... and don't be to stingy regarding gifts and apologies.

But instead, their FM travels to Sarajevo and declares it as "belonging to Turkey", at least in spirit.

I cannot see the Nabuco project taking off anytime soon if at all. This project wasn't being viable from the beggining due to problems with funding, supplies and also disagreements between EU and Turkey over transit fees.

Turkey demanded discounted gas prices for its own use and 15% cut of the transited gas and also expected to elevate theselves as a key player in EU energy security.

On the other hand, the South Stream project is facing fewer problems with respect to funding and gas supplies and also has the agrements of the goverments of Italy,Serbia,Bulgaria,Slovenia,Greece and recently croatia
& now France.

I think France had another reason to join the South Stream which has to do with its opposition to Turkey's ambitions of joining the EU.Nabuco could have been used by Turkey as a blackmailing tool in its ambitions of joining the EU.

I can see more countries joining the South Stream bandwagon in the near future.
