I hate sounding pessimistic, but really the only reason they are doing this for the people of the former Yugoslavia is due to the economic crisis. This way travelers they hope will bring money into their countries. Remember there are always carrots and sticks. But since my fellow brothers and sisters will be allowed to travel remember to tell and invite people from those regions from where you are so they can see a different perspective of the region from what they have seen the last 18 years. Ziveli!!!

Can anyone tell me of Ireland and GB is included in the visa free deal?
They way it is reported here seems to indicate that all EU countries are on board, but anyone I talk to says NO!

I expected an answer from B92 as it is the medium responsible for reporting this confusion.

Hope to get an answer soon.

How wonderful now Ratko Mladić can travel without a visa to the Hague.

Nope. Technically he is Bosnian, not Serbian citizen. Unless you have proof he was naturalized in Serbia - he can't travel to Hague without visa (as visitor).

money. Interior Minister Ivica Dačić should rush over tell Ratko Mladić the good news and all the rest of the war criminals.

I have a scoop for people of your kind, he is sitting with your thaci and alike criminals in pristina, trying to figure out how the hell they will be able to travel around without being arrested... (at least it is for both of them my Xmas wish)

Congratulation and welcome to the Serbian people...

Why the sarcasm, Lenard? The story is about visa-free travel for Serbian citizens, not about Ratko Mladic. Didn't your mother teach you "if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all".

This a laudable step on the way to plugging the 'hole' in Europe and moving on with the future in the Balkans.

The advent of low-cost airlines at Belgrade airport (BEG) will greatly improve the movement of the Serbian people and, more importantly, the influx of Europeans which will further stabilize the country and the region.

Kudos to the Serbs for getting their act together, after a long and regrettable detour.

Serbia was always part of Europe; their leverage with Russia will bode well for the EU's strategic future.
