Mr. Ash's article was rambling, incoherent, and disjointed. Considering how intriguing the title is and how prominent the placement, I wish he would have taken the time to collect his thoughts before using the stream of consciousness approach. And isn't he the so-called Yugoslav civil war expert who thought Ante Markevic was Serbian? Why Ash gets prominent space to write is a mystery to me.

When Germany reunified, it was no so much the British conservatives or the Polish conservatives. but the Serbian press that was raising alarm about Germany's revisionism. So many articles predicted that it would soon demand the return of Silesia, Pomerania, East Prussia, the Sudettenland...
The logical decission of the Kohl government to recognize Slovenia and Croatia was not a revanchist act against the Serbs, but mearly an understanding that Yugoslavia was dead and only a quick recognition may prevent the upcoming violence. TheGermans reached that conclussion before the French, the Brittish and the Americans simply because they knew the region better.
