"Spanish Fighter Pilots Admit NATO Purposely Attacks Civilian Targets
by Jose Luis Morales

From the Spanish weekly "Articulo 20", No. 30, June 14, 1999, about the NATO bombing raids against Yugoslavia and the role of Americans in making all decisions.

(Translated from Spanish to English by Jelena Karovic)

The pilots of Spanish planes who participated in bombing raids against Yugoslavia do not feel like "supermen" nor as masters of air space. Quite on the contrary, they say that our forces play to the tune of music played by the North Americans, and accuse NATO of having honored with medals the bombing of civilian targets, what they otherwise name "collateral damages".

Captain Adolfo Luis Martin de la Hoz, who returned to Spain end of May after having participated in the bombings since the beginning, an "authentic expert for the dreadful F-18", the war plane most often used in the war strategy of "scorched land" in the Balkans, is very categorical:

"First of all, I want to make it clear that the majority, I say the majority, of my colleagues, even if not all, are against the war in general and against this war of barbarity in particular." Martin de la Hoz says that he and his colleagues "are burnt out". "Since a few days ago there appeared in the papers certain statements of the commander Maches Michavilla, who is now in the air base at Aviano with the pilots who replaced us, in which he said that our worst enemy in the air was our mental and physical health. But I tell you that our worst enemies are our own authorities, the Defense Minister and his whole team, the members of the Government, who know nothing about war and go along with it without informing themselves about anything and, what is gravest, are guilty of lying to the Spanish people through the papers, radio and television, foreign correspondents and press agencies...."

Not that I in any way would make excuses for NATO's criminal actions, there were plenty who weren't convinced in the first place and many more who have serious doubts since...

I read..."Batajnica 2009 International Air Show is the second biggest air show held in Europe this year in terms of number of countries and aircraft that took part, second only to International Air Show in Le Bourget, near Paris, France."

Sounds positive to me.

Exactly. No need to mix politics with air show. Those pilots who participate in this event have a mutual respect towards each other and are the mebers of an elite of their profession.BTw an eltie where of course albanians have no representetives similarly to groups containing best tennis, basketball, water polo, volleyball, soccer players(and the list is long).

So joining the NATO and fight colonial wars (or marry the rapist, if you want) for the western powers is the best way to make peace Ataman?

I dont quite get it..

There are three ways, two of these help NATO:

- fight them as hard as you can
- join them ASAP
- ignore them as far as you can.

Regardless, this is an air show with not only NATO forces. I am not a fan of air shows, many had freak accidents (luckily not today) - but who likes them should go.

In Crimea the people took to the streets, even occupied facilities so that the western aggression pact NATO could´nt quarter or move around freely. They spat at them, calling them for what they did in the Balkans and are doing in the middle east, murderers! What are the courageous serbs doing?
(fas, 13 September 2009 13:58)

Don't you think that the best way to keep that idiotic NATO alive is to keep people polarized?
In some sense, doing what you wrote is the best way to ensure NATO's otherwise questionable existence. They need enemies or virtual enemies to exist.

I have a strange feeling, NATO does create such on purpose... otherwise they can close the shop. And that shop is a huge business, there is a lot of money to lose... for some few. ;-)

The serbian sense of decency and self respect has hit rock bottom. Which other country in the world would commemorate the victims of one of the most brutal onslaught and occupation, by letting the aggressors run over their capital with their veapons of mass destruction?
