I think that the appointment of Clinton opens a window of opportunity for the Balkans, and yes,for us Serbs too.
If approached directly she could pressure the Albanians to return Serbian property and refugees. The issues of killed and deported civilians on both sides could be resolved.
And of course there is the issue of Northern Mitrovica and Presevo.
With her interest in the Balkan affairs it would be easier to solve these problems than with the uninterested Bush administration.
Tadic has a very good relationship with Biden that dates back until 2004 so I think we will benefit from that.

Her boss will be Vice President-elect Biden. President-elect Obama's pick for VP was not a decoration. Clinton's boss will be Biden since Obama will deal with the domestic issues and Biden will deal with the foreign affairs issues in a close coordination with the Secretary-elect Hillary R. Clinton.

Roberto,

#1: we do not really know, what Hillary will bring. IMO, she would be much better to take care about the health care, with Balkans she had one blunder during her failed attempt to become "blue" nominee. And heck knows, how many she had. Yes or no, it has to be seen. As we can read in an excellent article in Newsweek: she could become marginized like Collin Powell during the Bush era. Her main problem is, she cannot have a supervisor. And as Secretary of State she will have Obama as day-to-day supervisor. If, instead, she would be involved in health care, she would have less possibilities to get with Obama in conflict on daily basis.

#2: you write "and will support human rights around the world, incl. and esp. in the balkans." Perfect, this matches the old Hungarian joke not a single Russian and/or American can understand - and you said it now completely seriously.

Text for Russians:

"The biggest problem in the politics is: USA is interfering with Russian domestic issues worldwide"

Text for Americans:

"The biggest problem in the politics is: Russia is interfering with American domestic issues worldwide"

This is the joke. Under normal circumstances the Russian (or American) audience takes it 100% seriously. And we laugh hysterically. The next step both (either Russian or American) will feel somewhat offended and will ask: "why are you laughing, where is the joke?". That question will make the joke even more Hillary-ous. (sorry for the pun, no offense).

This is a date to celebrate, and one that we have expected for a while: hillary will be our new sect of stae, and rice (susan) the new UN ambassador. they are both quite incredible women, who have a strong and complex understanding of the world, and will support human rights around the world, incl. and esp. in the balkans.

i am still obama's #1 booster and enthusiastic supporter. first, because he will be a fantastic president and leader, symbolically and concretely. second, he is surrounding himself with the best and the brightest, which we need desperately in such times. and third, after 8 years of bush, he is a true godsend.

hallelujah, i do not want to awaken from this particular dream...
