"No debate on Kumanovo revision"

NATO has still not discussed, assessed or made decisions on the Serbian proposal to revise the Kumanovo agreement, it was heard in Brussels today.

Milan,

Sorry to have to set you straight with this harsh clarification. But, there were no "high level" talks between NATO and the Serb military. What actually took place was that a rather low ranking officer from Nato met with Serb general Ponos to inform him that Nato had no intention of making any changes to the Kumanovo Ultimatum for at least the next century. And, the Serbs were also told not entertain any silly ideas of pretending to EVER work in cooperation with the Victor, NATO.

Sooner or later the revision will need to take place. NATO is losing the war in Afghanistan and are being asked to contribute more troops to the conflict thus diverting resources from Kosmet. The Albanians or (possible non-Albanian Muslim extremists) will start a campaign against KFOR troops in Kosovo. These things will happen in due time- probably within 18mths. KFOR and Serbia will need to cooperate a lot more closely in the future especially in the border areas. It seems to make sense to me, why else would there be all these high level meetings between NATO(KFOR) and VS. ANy thoughts?

Don't recall anyone celebrating. Clearly, Kumanovo agreement will be a thing of past one day or other. Roberto used the opportunity to bran Serb government as "nationalist" because they want to change that agreement and I tried to explain him to look somewhere else (= Magyar Gárda) to find more nationalism and in particular, more anti-Semitism.

Maybe it was the hijacking of the topic, but personally this entire "Magyar Gárda" (and related) thing bothers me a lot these days. Toothless democracy with fascist criminals running amok unpunished.

No comments from Serb posters?

“The Kumanovo agreement functions very well, therefore we don’t see any reason why would we change something that functions alright,” a diplomat from one NATO member state said on Monday.

They were premature celebrations, just as some Serbs are celebrating for EULEX
