Nikolić slams Tadić over rally violence

Tomislav Nikolić today accused Boris Tadić of provoking and organizing <a href="http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2008&mm=07&dd=30&nav_id=52306" class="text-link" target= "_blank">incidents at a rally</a> in Belgrade last night.

The SRS is getting conscious that the violence harms them. Without the threat of violence their demonstration would have drawn a much bigger crowd. And the next demonstration will very probably be again much smaller due to the last violence. Most people don't like to go to demonstrations that might turn violent. The Radicals are a bit late to understand this but we should be glad that they finally get it.

Given that Tadic has been eager to use the violence at nationalist demonstrations as a propaganda tool against the SRS I think Nikolic has reason to suspect that Tadic is not not as eager to stop the hooligans as he should be.

Smile, duh I don't know how could Tadic have possibly known. I'm sure he or the rest of Belgrade hadn't noticed that hooligans were the main part of the daily protest so far.... Still, just knowing that is probably evidence that he must have organised the demonstrations right?

If you are loyal to your country how about condemning kids that think its ok to smash it up and politicians who are using them for political aims?

Is it informally a dictatorship? You know I think its a long push to start talking about a government being a dictatorship at the very beginning of its tenure.

They have to first show these tendancies to earn the title. On the other hand, to sore losers anybody who doesn't win apart from their choice is a dictator.

How did Tadic know there would be trouble? I have only lived in Belgrade for a year and a half and I knew there would be trouble. It doesn't take a clairvoyant to see a pattern.

Thanks for the giggles, Mr. Nikolic. Isn't this what you expected to happen?

yesterday there was an article about tadic escaping the city again when there's a rally and how he went as far as macedonian border, and it wouldve been absolutely rubbish except for this, six or so hours before the rally he says something like, and those football fans should go back to supporting their clubs and not causing riots.
excuse-moi? the man certainly has many astonishing talents that move mind, heart and digestive system, but clairvoyance? how did he know there would be trouble and caused by football fans no less. someone ought to email toma that article. arent protests organized by ultra, ultra, mega, extra, scary, horrible extremely extreme right wing horrible groups of ultra mega extreme people? why not assume that they would cause trouble if anyone?
pinpointed that he did. football, hooligans, riots.
oh and btw, the rally's as big as pro regime media try to prove otherwise. and they try pretty hard today. any opposition here remembers rts and 'sacica demonstranata'? :) thats what im talking about.
and lastly i'm no karadzic fan. or lets say, i wasnt.
and lastly lastly, is this formally a dictatorship? no. and neither was milosevic's regime. and i opposed that one until the very day he fell, and i'll see these fall too. my loyalty is to no party no ideology no propaganda hot air. my loyalty is to my country and common sense. and this regime is not good for my country just like that one wasnt.

1, Fifteen thousand people is not a small number, by anyone’s standards.

2, 15,000 is a huge number considering the fact that no media outlet helped organise the protest, many people are very nervous about the Government's pledge to videotape and photograph the rally for purposes of prosecution. Finally the rally occurred on a week night and Karadzic’s abduction to the Hague was thought by most to be fait acomply.

The DS may downplay 15,000 dissenting voices, but the last person to scoff at 15,000 people protesting in Belgrade was Milosevic- how did that work for him?

I could not say better than sp. 15,000 people. Aren't the Radicals the party with the most of 'supporters'? Anyway, Nikolic's accusations against Boris Tadic were very predictable. No need to be a genius to come to this conclusion when you pay attention to how the SRS are not able to assume anything. Instead of slaming Tadic, Nikolic should have been a real man and apologize for creating a mess in the center. Everybody knew that the SRS would not control the Hooligans. Are they that idiots not to think the same? Basically, the population in Belgrade has money this morning taken from their taxe on incomes that is used to clean the city, to change windows, and so on.. All that, because the Radicals and its supporters don't care about their city neither their country.. after seeing what they do in the city, its scary to imagine how they could destroy the country aswell. So M. Nikolic, where are those apologizes to your citizens for the mess created by your irresponsible party. The hooligans are not to be blamed.. those are youths.. The organisors of the gathering are to be blamed, basically, the SRS once again showed how brainless they can be whenever they want..

Wow, Nikolić. Is your screen name on B92 ZK UK?

It's not unbelievable that Nikolić would stoop so low as to blame Tadić for his political failings. Face it, Toma, you're unpopular and no one really believes what you say anymore. Serbs are ready to move forward with their lives and not be mired in the past.

As for this conspiracy theory that Tadić somehow organized the hooligans, it's totally laughable. I'm glad the police pushed the hooligans back into the crowd from which they started while protecting the shops and businesses from being broken into. It's shameful that so many were hurt in the process.
