I fail to understand the hatred against Karadžić by so many people around the world who don't have a clue about what he is, who he is, or what he was. "Karadžić is the Bin Laden of Europe!" Why is that? Because Richard Holbrooke says so?

One of the big problems with the Bosnian/Serb wars of the 90's is that western media filtered the news that was coming out of there. They very efficiently reported what the Yugoslav military and Karadžić and Mladic were doing, but they failed to report as to how exactly it escalated so far and got to the point where they were killing masses of people.

Bosnian muslims and Serb christans have lived side by side in Bosnia for 100's and 100's of years and they fought against Turks, Germans, Italians, Austrians and god knows who else side by side.

And then all of a sudden, right out the the blue, the western media expects you to believe that one day some Serb called Karadžić woke out and decided he was going to kill all the Bosnian muslims just because he felt like it.

Karadžić and Mladic responded to something. In order to understand what they responded to, you need to go to Serbia and read the 2 volume black books about what was happening to Serb christians in Bosnia in the last 30 years.

Once again, I am NOT saying Karadžić and Mladic did not kill anyone or that they should be given peace prizes. What I am saying is that they responded to something very big and nasty that the western media did not report.

To Karadzic
Have a nice vacation. May the souls that you tourmented be in your conscience. Have a full taste of what does it mean to be powerless.

To Serbian people
If such a criminal is supossed to be your hero, than one should REALLY worry about you and not him. It is ironic that with arrest of Karadzic and soon to be that of Mladic, Serbia can pretend that they deserve their status in the family of European nations.
What one can deduce from this logic is that one should violate other nations, start wars, commit crimes, and GET PRAISED when they decide to turn in two or three leaders. Such an irony, such an SYMBOLIC JUSTICE. What are the survivors of Srebrenica supposed to beleive. That there is justice in these symbolic actions.

It is a much more honest gesture if Serbs instead as a society admited to the crimes commited by their forces. This does not make all Serbs criminals. Instead, it makes them human and worthy to be regarded as equals.

I realy don't understand how one nation and country can be proud for arresting the most wanted war criminal after 13 years of hidding him?!
How can one nation and country be proud for his arrest when this nation is giving majority of its votes to a party who is protecting such war criminals?!
How can one nation and country be proud for his arrest when this nation is threating the other nations with same crimes after the years they got enough strong to repeate the same crimes?!

Is somebody thinking about these facts, or they blindly believe that this nation and country have changed for a good. There are some more indicators to built opinions and not only statements should be considered...

I don't think you read anything about Karadzic the last few days. He went into hiding, created his own false identity and lived out a hidden life precisely for the reason so as not to get caught by the Serbian authorities, if he just went on living his life as if nothing happened, he would have been caught over 13 years ago, at least.

BTW. There are over 200 Albanian criminals that have not been caught yet by Interpol that are still sought after, do you think that whatever countries they are living in now are harbouring them too, or do you think they are not caught yet because they are hiding away from authorities?

To Serb posters: before you defend him, see what he did. It's a black mark in humanity, not just Serbia:

Olf, just some friendly advice:

Drink your coffee FIRST before you sit down and blog. I feel the caffeine will help you think better and make you less groggy in judgement. You'd be surprised how far one little cup can go :)

Karadžić’s arrest? Too little, too late!

Serbia’s image among international community has been irremediably wounded! It will take decades to surmount this difficulty. You are wasting your time, money and energy with the ICJ. The sooner you accept Kosovo’s independence, the better is for you and ensuing generations.

To Olf,

Are you intoxicated? What are you talking about. The true fact is that the Serbian government had the courage to hand over Milosevic, Karadzic and so many other of its past leaders. This takes a lot of balls to do it, and this is putting themselves to grave dangers.
I do not know where you from but i feel that you have a genuine hatred to the whole nation of Serbs. Serbia will come out of this crisis with one way or the other because it is a country which is proud, has culture and has stood up against the Nazis. I hope that your country did the same 65 years ago.

Karadzic arrest and some other arrest in Serbia has proven that Serbia is still long way away from function as a proper country, since they harbour them feed them, give them false identity, let them live in middle of Belgrade with so many innocent people around them. When you have all this is mind than I would not be mistaken to say that Serbia is not the safes place to be or maybe I am wrong.
Lets not forget what Karadzic is wanted for. I think he is being portrayed as doctor that a place called Serbia allowed him to work under false name as a doctor. This will make you think twice before you go to doctor again.

Congratulations to B92 for having correctly and promptly reported that Karadzic has been arrested in Belgrade. Some other news sources did not report that circumstance.
