"You said "They're 60,000 people are too small to make an impact " Couldn't the same be said for the Kosovar Serbs??? OOhhh, I forget the world has two set of rules to go by. One set for the world and another for the Serbs. Hypocrisy is not the solution.Look up the word equality, it might help you understand life better.

There is nothing hypocritical here. Pristina agreed to the Ahtisaari provisions which gave the K-Serbs extensive political privileges and so they will have a lot of influence (at least on paper) derspite their small numbers. AND PRISTINA IS BOUNDED BY THESE PROVISIONS BECAUSE IT AGREED TO THEM! Belgrade on the other hand never committed itself to offering anything similar to the Albanians in south Serbia.

So how can there be double standards when it was Pristina who volutarily signed on to the Ahtisaari plans. Of course the K-Serbs are entitled to reject these plans, which they did so loud and clear.

By the way, K-Serbs number much more than 60,000.

A multi-ethnic party, what a JOKE. This is the equivalent of a father buying his son a gun, but, he can only use it if he is willing to shoot himself in the head.

Azir,

would you please elaborate, what are your plans in other countries? Like... Iceland, for instance. Is it part of the Ahtisaari-plan, too? Thanks!

"Serbia has very limited options available with regards to the ethnic Albanians in Preshev, Medveg and Bujanoc valley. Either we are guarenteed representation similar to the Kosovar Serbs have in Kosova's Parliment or we return to 2001 and this time take it to the finish line. We can also declare an Albanian Parliment in the occupied territories, like some intend on doing.Kosova is independent and so can Presheva .

Actually it is not Belgrade but the Albanians themselves who have the limited options that you wrote. For the simple reason of numbers. Their 60000 people are too small to make any impact on Serbia's political scene. As you know, Ahtisaari doesn't apply to them.

How about multi-racial representation in the US Senate first? According to "statistics", there should be 12 black senators and 15 hispanic senators. I challenge all of the "democratic" posters on this site to check the racial composition of the US Senate before they spew their ignorant rhetoric here. I wonder if the correct representation is in the US House of Representatives. This is what irks intelligent readers of world media (B92 is part of that media) the most: The media is just the mouthpiece of the most unethical, hypocritical country in the world: USA.

The solution of the problems for the Albanians in Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja should be found through dialogue between the Serbian government and local authorites. There are many references that can be taken into account such as Ohrid agreement and President Ahtisari plan.

> If you compare parliamentary elections of 2007 with those held this year, it becomes obvious there was no boycott this time, which demonstrates that people know how they should solve their problems," Brooks was quoted

Hope you are right Mr Brooks, but I have my doubts after that bomb attack in the region yesterday shredded that police van.

So let's see how quickly those criminals responsible are caught or identified. If the ethnic albanians in the region are indeed civically responsible, then it shouldn't take too long.
