Samardžić on Kosovo vote, denies partition

Outgoing Minister for Kosovo Slobodan Samardžić, DSS, said Monday that local assemblies will be top bodies of power in Serb areas in Kosovo.

Only 57% voted? These illegal elections are too important for the Kosovar - S minority, I expected a 70 - 80% outcome.

Assuming 100,000 are eligible to vote (optimistically) * .57 = 57,000 voted (still way too optimistic, this is ALL people, kids, etc).

Realistically maybe 35,000 Kosovar-S voted...that is low.

Those are my thoughts. Are these good turnouts? They seem very low to me.

The results are much better than when Pristina had their last elections. What was the turnout, under 50% I think. Who ever has been elected in Kosovo is far more legitimate than what came out of Pristina.

given that most of the Serbs in the southern serbian province are forced to live in ghetto´s surrounded by barbed-wire, it´s a great result, that so many of them could get to the ballot-boxes...

you seem to forget the albanian apartheid-methods imposed on the serbian part of the population...
