This is actualy a win for Kosovo, although it doesnt seem like it to many of you.

If Unmik remains, Serbia can never invade it or it would be attacking a UN runned province.

Unmik can never legtimatly leave, since the U.S. will block it, no matter how friendlier it gets or if it ever hates Albanians, it will be seen as a win for Russia over Influence.

Since the constitution will come into effect, it also means the Kosova's institutions will not take orders from Unmik, or EULEX.

Cheers, to a peaceful future

KV, fortunately for you, Serbia has no interest in governing the "Rep. of Kosova". Firstly because it only exists in the heads of Albanians and secondly because Serbia has no interest in ruling the Albanians. That's why the government offered self-rule but you rejected it because you need NATO to do the babysitting.

Also, we can spare you the holy war as Kosovo never left Serbia so there is no need to get anything back.

Apart from Serbia gaining more control over its province, what else has changed since the IUDI? Nothing much as far as I'm or the world is concerned.

Wishfull thinking fas,

The "empire" as you call it and the "NWO" will only get stronger. They already "own" the entire Balkans. Its only a matter of time before Serbia becomes a puppet state as well. When that happens Yugoslavia will basically be in existence again in the EU.

You Serbs can call it 1244 or the Constitution, whatever you call it it's still the same thing --- you can't control / govern over Rep. of Kosova, period.

Best chance of "getting" Kosova back is if you proclaimed a holy war and have your current priests do as they did in '90s.

The "International Steering Group (ISG)" as mentioned in this article is just another name for NATO. There really is nothing "International" about it apart from NATO attempting to give itself some kind of legitimacy.

The world and the true international community is just not buying it. The meeting really is about attempting to dig themselves out of the hole they created but it will only get deeper.

It all ends with 1244 and the guarantee of Serbia's integrity, so nothing changes until Serbia and then Russia and China say so.

You're right, Willie Garvin, and the UN is bound, unlike the cowboys currently trying to control the world, by its own charters and laws.

Therefore any changes must go through the Security Council. The only way forward is to restart talks, no matter how much fuss the participants kick up as they are led to the negotiating table.

Only today there has been a mention of a Greater Albania movement (there's a surprise) and an undeliverable promise from Thaci that his government will have full control of Kosovo after June.

Not to mention the crime rate and poverty in the region.

The US has done no favours to anyone, including the Kosovo Albanians, by trying to rush through independence without going through the proper legal channels.

The UN has to now step in, take control and take up the suggestion by Russia, India and China for talks to restart. Not just to keep the peace but also to avoid this horrendously dangerous precedent.

There is nothing wrong with having a UN office in Prishtina. As a mission it categorically needs to be opposed by every nation, that has or will support the Kosovars towards full international UN accepted independence.

If UNMIK’s mandate is not extended then the only legitimate force to replace it is the Serbian army.

I suspect UNMIK will be around long after 30th June.

Yes, UNMIK will stay and so does NATO, it´s their land grab, their occupation and they wont leave KIM voluntary until they are thrown out (just like the Germans in WW1&2) or until UN get´s democratic and the aggression-pact dismantled.

USA, built upon the bones of 50 million genocided indians, don´t have any history of it´s own but Serbia in deed does and she knows what patience is.

I give the "empire" a couple of years before it collapses and neo-liberal NWO with it, then Kosovo will go back to Serbia just like it always has.

UNSCR 1244's mandate remains in force, de jure, until such time as the UNSC votes otherwise.

UNSCR 1244 and UNMIK existence remain in force, de facto, until 30 June when the current mandate expires.

However, we will see on Thursday whether the current mandate is going to be extended for a further 12 months and in what shape.

That's why UNMIK officials are awaiting orders from New York.
