the loser of the elections is absolutely right with his calculations - but he does not understand the will of some 100.000 voters which did not want him as a PM anymore.

I agree with ZK UK's and John Bosnitch's comments. I do not know how exactly the Serbian society got so divided, but at the moment it is one of the worst things that can happen. Serbia and Serbs have to search deep inside to find the cause(s) and cure it/them or get rid of it/them somehow. Of course (part of)the EU is quite happy, for it has made Serbia pretty paralyzed and more vunarable. Of course Serbia has not turned into some kind of Banana republic, but a balance and compromise has to be found to move forward instead of backward. At least there are very few Kosovo Albanians who are willing to share their sarcasm now at this side (they are probably experiencing similar issues in Kosovo, but the western media must be sensored not to release those kinds of stories that will even further undermine the already almost complete loss of credibility of (part of) the EU and its allies in this soap opera. The Serbian politicians should stop calling each other names that in the past were used to call Serbia and all Serbs. Use the trust that has been given to you by the electorate of Serbia to do something constructive. Serbia cannot afford to stay in this limbo for another few months.

Well said Kostunica!
pre 18 godina
So tell me how many seats did Kostunica gain since the previous election.
The Radicals always had about 80 seats, they have lost a few this time around.
Tadic's party would have had about 60 seats if he had stand alone. Which makes him the second largest party.
Still more then the DSS.

It is about time Kostunica puts him in his place. I wonder what took him so long.
Tadic obviously doesn't have any idea what democracy is, if he thinks it is to follow abjectly Solana's orders.
Tadic is becoming dangerous for Serbia, he may be trying to convert it into a Lebanon, in order to mantain his cabal in power. The sooner he is removed, the better.

The article said:
"The Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) leader reiterated that “according to the principle tenets of democracy, and according to the Serbian Constitution, only 126 MPs can form a legitimate majority that expresses the will of the citizens.”"
I guess Denmark is not a real democracy then :( *sniff*
According to our constitution, the requirement is that the sitting government don't have a majority vote AGAINST it.
On many occasions, for many years, we have had minority (coalition) governments. If the opposition wanted to oust the sitting government and force a election, they had to call a Vote-of-no-confidence in the parliament and show that a majority of the parliament was against the sitting government. This could sometimes prove difficult, because parties that was not part of the government would often abstain from supporting such a vote.

Tadic's claim of having a majority is not just marketing. It is a combination of the worst of two extremes.
Tadichites are repeating a thousand times their lie that they won the election in the hope that their lie will become the truth.
And just like Vladimir Lenin, whose faction was in a clear minority, the Tadichites simply assume the title of "the majority" (Bolshevik).
If there is any remaining other way of subverting democracy that Tadic and his DS have not yet used, I would really like to know what it might be.
Sincerely,
John Bosnitch

Koštunica really does say it as it is, right? When they have 130 seats, that is a clear majority right?
Or do the DS believe each seat of theirs is worth two? They have learned the tricks of their EU/US supporters to make the rules up as they go.
Fortunately the people will no longer be fooled.
