Wrong again Ahmet, Mig-21's and Mi-24's were purchased from Ukraine and not Russia. Also remember the 90's were the gun smugglers wet dream.

RE: The Generals are the victims not the criminals

Good on Vladimir Zagorec , the former Deputy Minister to speak up. Most Yugoslav citizens know who the war crminals are , Stepjan Mesic, Haradnaj (sp), Ceku, & the list goes on. They continue to sit in power while allowing lower level government officials take the blame for the crimes committed against the Yugoslav citizens. You can add Milo Djukanovic to the list who has betrayed Montenegro to foreign interests.

Let's hope Ante Gotovina also speaks up who was merely following orders from his henchman, namely Tudjman who conspired with Mesic to break up the former Yugoslavia.

What a silly man. None of this is new.

The Mig-21s, Mi-24s etc came from ex-East German army and airforce (the RWRs on the Migs are the dead give away for example) stocks, along with other considerable materiel.

The whole point about the ICTY is that is specifically excludes any actions by states outside the Balkans.

So, NATO countries that bankrolled the great majority of ICTY funds call the shots (the US ICTY contingent was housed separately from the others and kept itself apart from its colleagues).

If non-SFRY countries were not excluded, the US (amongst others) would be up for war crimes charges, particularly with their direct military support for the Croatian ethnic cleansing of over 200,000 Krajina Serbs.

The United States Navy flew radar suppression missions against the Krajina Serbs in support of the Croatians, provided the men via 'private' company Military Professional Resources Int. (MPRI), a front company for the US state which Congress cannot force to testify before it (a very old trick often used).

In addition to MPRI's 'retired' military officers who planned 'Operation Storm' from beginning to end, they were supplied by their Pentagon buddies with up to date sattellite photos, military evesdropping equipment etc. etc. and provided constant updates throughout the campaign.

Under the Geneva Conventions, being in the position to prevent a crime against humanity and not doing anything is punishable. Basically the US and allies direct sponsored ethinc cleansing and in the full knowledge that it was highly probable that it would occur.

On a very relevant point, this is why in the trial of Ante Gotovina, his defense lawyer, Greg Kehoe, has a record of working effectively on behalf of the Pentagon.

The US does not want the full details of its 'help' to the croatian armed forces to come out at Gotovina's trial. Fortunately for the US, it still provides substantial funding and will apply other forms of pressure on the institution to get its way.

The question is, what does Gotovina get to keep silent?

A reduced sentence possibly?

Now that would be really show what the ICTY is all about.

But who cares? For the 'genocide' in bosnia, the US an its allies have directly and indirectly killed over 500,000 iraqi children from 1991-2001, and over a million iraqis 2003-2007.

Or, re-start the somali war after there was finally some peace etc. etc.

Big boys don't get done for genocide and the free and fair democratic media doesn't give a damn. Genocide by democracies are 'A GOOD THING'. A bit like 'democracies' deciding who should be in power regardless of decent democratic elections: http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2008&mm=05&dd=15&nav_id=50271

So, slaughter away democratically...

Ahmet, what does that have to do with anything? Russian Tanks were in CHECHNYA in 1999, brand new ones..so dont think that the government would be selling this crap as much as under the table deals with mobsters. 1993-1999 were probably the WORST years for Russian organized crime.

As for me protecting the russians or the serbs, dont think about it. The balkans were seriously screwed up with corruption.

Dont think it's just Serb vs Croat vs Muslim.

It's more like Serb vs Serb Criminal vs Croat vs Croat Criminal vs Muslim vs Muslim Criminal.

Never underestimate the willingness of a criminal to line their own pockets through the misery of others.

More than likely Ahmet, the MiGs wouldn't have come directly from Russia. I believe most were purchased from the Czech Republic which obviously had many as it was in the Warsaw Pact and had much Soviet equipment.

"Russian MIG aircraft and MI24 helicopters", sold to Croatia to fight Serbs. hm, so much for Russian friendship towards Serbs. Guys wake up because Russia doeas not care for Serbia or anyone else, they only care for their own interests. I bet you if we ask Russia to sell weapons to Kosova, they will as long as they get paid cash.
