Peter, there are many people from Vojvodina working in my city. Some claim that there are "thousands" of them, ok , it`s probably a too high number, but the fact is that i know some of them. It`s hard for them, simply because they are not part of "the club".Hungarians get better jobs in our companies, simply because they are EU. It`s a strange situation, we could need lots of workers from Vojvodina, they have no jobs back home, but the fact that there IS that border, makes everything much more complicated. And Vojvodina is one of the most developed regions in Serbia, i think that in other parts there are even bigger problems.

If young Serbs want o travel to Europe they can just get a visa, why this huge issue that if they are not in the EU, then the young people cannot visit the countries in it?

Do you guys know how many Turks, Arabs, Albanians, Chinese, Black Africans and other non-EU citizens live in the EU? Why should Serbians have any problems in visiting?

Yeah this is ridiculous and unfair. Cooperation must be both ways otherwise it is just the powerful imposing their will on everyone else. It must be awful for you, I mean I've basically grown up going abroad (I live in the UK). Yeah there are people here who've never been abroad but they are in the minority and I think most people benefit from it.

What is the EU's problem, is what I want to know. I respect the EU in some ways, I think it a great organisation in a lot of ways but then it goes and does things like this, which are completely unfair and only go to hurt ordinary people.

While many countries with large populations were still outside the EU, the carrot of less restrictive migration control made sense as a bargaining mechanism.
But it seems to me that such restrictions on smaller European states is more stick than carrot.
Less restrictive movement for citizens of aspirant states should not be conditional imho.

Logic oh dear it looks like you don't know where Europe is my friend - which kind of proves the point.

Greece is in Europe, as is Turkey (bet you didn't know that). And looking at travel agencies is hardly empirical is it? Besides if no Visa's were sought there would be more interest.

Therefore its not the decision of young people at all. Visa requirements place an additional burden upon them as well as additional expense.

No your insular view aside, travel does broaden the mind even if it empties the wallet.

B92 you might want to correct "doesn't" in the title to "don't" as the supposition is "they" plural. And you might want to correct "Serbinas" in the text as well.

Having been to the "EU" I will sum it up for those fortunate
enough not to blow all their hard earned cash on some cheep sideshow of Europe.

The EU is a artificial habitat for greedy self loving snobs, commonly known as EuroTrash.

Keep your distance from these. They devour anything in site.

Disaster, 75% of young population never traveled to Europe! It might be also that the young population is capable of deciding what offer is better suited for their tastes and money. Look what destinations are offered by travel agencies: Greece, Turkey, Egipt, Tunisia...Not too many to Europe - Europe is a little bit on expensive side today. I personally don't think that at this age of technology the visa issue will contribute too much to the lack of knowledge about EU, or any country for that matter. Only seeing some foreign country may please the eyes, but may not bring it closer to your heart. And honestly, do the young people learn enough about their own country by traveling it(it's not that big, but it is worth of knowing it)? Why not admit that the problem for the larger part of Serbian population is more of economic nature than visa restrictions.Or resentment against EU as a result of the political manipulation by some "nationalist"

I think we need the isolation..

It's good for us..it makes us appreciate what we have..oh wait..what is it that we have?

The square root of 0. That's what we have.

The only reason the balkans have anyone coming through us is because of the adriatic and to get to greece ands turkey using our roads.

COME ON FOR GOD'S SAKES! EU NOW. NO WAITING. NOW!
