Kate,

As the drafter of the international law states

"The resolution implicity states that Kosovo remains part of Serbian sovereign territory."

I have pointed out to you so many time that YUGOSLAVIA doesn't exist anymore. If feel so strongly about Kosova as part of Serbia why Serbia forced to run away of Kosova? As a "sovreign" country go and get Kosova back....The Kosovars would "love to see you" back to enforce your sovereignity.
(EA, 1 April 2008 20:00)

i don't even know why i'm wasting my time trying to educate a simpleton, but for the 1,000,000th time: SERBIA IS THE SUCCESSOR STATE TO YUGOSLAVIA - THE UN SEAT THAT SAID YUGOSLAVIA, NOW SAYS SERBIA.

but that's not the point i'm trying to make here...

"... If feel so strongly about Kosova as part of Serbia why Serbia forced to run away of Kosova? As a "sovreign" country go and get Kosova back....The Kosovars would "love to see you" back to enforce your sovereignity.
(EA, 1 April 2008 20:00)"

serbia never 'ran away', they agreed to have a 'humanitarian' mission replace serb security forces under the pre-condition that the KLA be disarmed, not for the same terrorist mob to start burning down churches and trafficking young children's organs - and as i recall, it was the KLA that was running to albania when Milo sent our boys down there, so no... you would not see serbia reclaim their SOVEREIGNTY over kosovo anyways as you would be somewhere on Sar planina with the polar bears you recently discovered.

i really don't know why we waste our time replying - i'm just 'suggesting removal' for all useless comments that have no basis in fact but just twisted opinion.

Olf,

Every year, an agency called Transparency International publishes the "Corruption Perceptions Index". On the latest list of least corrupted countries (there are 179 countries on this list), Serbia is #79 and Albania is #105. Serbia also scores better than Bosnia, Macedonia, and Montenegro. So all in all, corruption levels are not that high in Serbia...

Regards from Belgrade! Plenty of electricity, cold and hot water and from my office from the foreign company that did NOT invest in Serbia...

Are you sure that you are working for a foreign company. To me it seems that you are more busy posting here then working. But then again maybe the foreign company you work for is a Romanian one which would explain all the extra time you have to post.

EA: "I have pointed out to you so many time that YUGOSLAVIA doesn't exist anymore."

As many people have pointed out on here many times, that is irrelevant. Legally, Serbia is the successor state and Kosovo is within its sovereign borders.

'rosebud' - I am sure that Ana works as hard as the rest of us. I'm also sure that she (or he) is far beyond weak attempts to try and put her/ him off posting.

Ana's been making good points on here, which is why you're obviously trying to throw a spanner in the works.

RE: Olf "Nobody is prepared to invest in Serbia"

Before you give ignorant comments, maybe you should pay a visit to Serbia. All of my friends work in foreign companies that have invested in Serbia...

But I have heard from my foreign co-workers that you are the black hole. No water, no electricity but a lot of illegal stuff...and no desire to do anything!

What has happened with all the money you got as financial help? In whose pockets did it end?

What a great news. Is this the same resolution that says that Kosova is part of Yugoslavia? Fine. The same resolution does not accept Independence of Kosova but at the same time it does not allow Serbia to develop. Why?
Nobody is prepared to invest in Serbia, the place where there is no political stability, where corruption is rife, [link], organised crime at the highest possible level’ Zemun clan” and many other government officials, world greatest war criminals roaming streets free, Karadzic, Mladic.
Even Serbs are investing in other places not in Serbia.
As you can see, this resolution that suit only the criminals and failed Serbian politicians for their political and material gains is very harmful and more in power in Serbia than in Kosova.
(Olf, 1 April 2008 13:33)

Yes a great proposal, and as for Yugoslavia? I'm sorry but are you referring to that part in history when Josip Broz Tito allowed albanians on to Serbian land as a sign of good will and friendship, and now they’ve turned it into god's blind spot?
Allow Serbia to develop? I’m sorry but what the hell are you on about? Resolution 1244 clearly states that Kosovo is to be occupied by UNMIK but at the same time it is clearly and will always remain part of Serbian sovereign territory. NO olf, rather this act of terrorism on behalf of your friends, america and their stringed puppets, the EU, clearly outlines that Kosovo is corrupt down to the very last spec of dust. After all, the place is administered by a terrorist war criminal leader, Thaci (i.e. KLA - even america recognised it as a terrorist organisation.) You have Reucker, god knows what he is, after all as Kate put it, single brain cell, and yet he's missing that. What do I mean by that? Oh I don't know; take a look at the atrocities committed by the albanians over the past few years. How about the Serbian churches that were burned down and destroyed, and hey KFOR and UNMIK really stepped up then. Hey how about the countless times Serbian graves have been vandalised but not even.
How about now, after so long, we discover albanians took Serbs and endeavoured on a little organ racketeering. And yet he placed in his report that there has been no obstruction to peace? Did I forget to mention that when the KLA was losing so helplessly that they screamed genocide and that in its hundreds of thousands? 10,000 people were murdered in Kosovo, and without a doubt albanians are amongst those figured, but the most shocking and unbelievable part to you is that the majority were Serbs.

But then again, I'm sorry, you must excuse my arrogance. I forgot that for as like you, every other albanian commenter seems to believe that Serbian suffering is a much of a myth as turning lead into gold. I keep forgetting that the Serbians are the ones that are kept behind barbed wire, the ones that have their power cut off, and water, that have medical supplies denied, that have their jobs taken away from them without reason, that have their sacred sites vandalised. I mean the list goes on. You can read all about their suffering, and deny it like you always do, and you can find all of this information on www.b92.net/eng. You and the rest of the albanians can keep playing victim for as long as you like. But hey, I mean they're Serbs that are suffering, so obviously this is falling on deaf ears.

Sure Mr Ban, the resolution is still in force and will stay until Serbia take over the province under her control. However, just to refresh your memory and to inform you that Kosovo unilaterally declared independence. You mentioned only declaration on independence failing to emphasize unilateral declaration and you will agree there is the difference in the meaning between these two. Don’t mislead people intentionally.

The UN Secretary-General is actually daring to uphold international law here, the Americans must be very, very perturbed by him.
I am sure they will try to remove him now for daring to uphold UNSC Resolution 1244, which clearly defines Kosovo as an integral part of Serbia.
This is one more victory of justice over power.
Cheers!

"Belgrade and Moscow see the Resolution as giving Kosovo “widespread autonomy” while remaining under Serbia’s sovereignty, whereas the West believes that the Resolution can serve as a basis for implementing proposals for the province’s internationally-supervised independence as envisaged by UN envoy Martti Ahtisaari’s plan. "

Ahtisaari may have been the UN envoy to Kosovo, & while he has put forward a status plan, this plan has NOT been endorsed by the UN. It is still only a 'proposal'. This is no foundation on which to build a state.

And until ALL of the parties agree, then any K-albanian unilateral declaration of independence will be just that - a unilateral declaration, & not independence in point of fact.

"Ban called on all sides to “refrain from all acts and statements that could endanger peace, lead to violence or compromise security in Kosovo and the region.”"

Have a word with the US and their Euro stooges about that one, Mr Ban. Also take stock of your position and realise that you cannot allow selected nations to wipe their feet on UN resolutions that they don't like.

You are there to defend the UN and you have let the organisation down badly.

As for the description of Resolution 1244 being interpreted in different ways - that is ridiculous. The resolution implicity states that Kosovo remains part of Serbian sovereign territory.

It's not implied or open to interpretation, and if it was the teams of the top legal minds who have picked over this resolution with a fine-toothed comb would have found a way around this non status mess. They would be waving documents in the air triumphantly.

Everyone with more than one brain cell can see that if you have a protectorate with set rules, you cannot suddenly give it away and build military bases on it!

The only way that this will be solved is to engage Serbia within discussions. Independence does not legally exist, and it is this status issue which should be addressed urgently and realistically. Not by a bunch of officials and politicians sticking their fingers in their ears and repeating loudly over and over: "It is independent, it is, so there!".

If we're not careful today's children from throughout Europe will be fighting some pointless war in 20 years time.

i don't even know why i'm wasting my time trying to educate a simpleton, but for the 1,000,000th time: SERBIA IS THE SUCCESSOR STATE TO YUGOSLAVIA - THE UN SEAT THAT SAID YUGOSLAVIA, NOW SAYS SERBIA.

but that's not the point i'm trying to make here...

"... If feel so strongly about Kosova as part of Serbia why Serbia forced to run away of Kosova? As a "sovreign" country go and get Kosova back....The Kosovars would "love to see you" back to enforce your sovereignity.

serbia never 'ran away', they agreed to have a 'humanitarian' mission replace serb security forces under the pre-condition that the KLA be disarmed, not for the same terrorist mob to start burning down churches and trafficking young children's organs - and as i recall, it was the KLA that was running to albania when Milo sent our boys down there, so no... you would not see serbia reclaim their SOVEREIGNTY over kosovo anyways as you would be somewhere on Sar planina with the polar bears you recently discovered.

i really don't know why we waste our time replying - i'm just 'suggesting removal' for all useless comments that have no basis in fact but just twisted opinion.
