Ernie,

That only means that you know nothing about Serbia, not a one chapter of her history. Btw. name me one of your successful leaders. You know, social conditions of the country and its provinces tell us much about the leadership. Since Kosovo came under Albanian rule, the condition of the region underwent terrible collapse in all spheres. Do I have to mention the social conditions in Albania so that you get full picture of Albanian leadership in general

EA,

I think that Ristivojevic is right, Tadic is trying to mislead people. I don’t think that Samarrdzic wanted any type of physical partition, on the contrary, only functional one. That is how I understood it from the very beginning. I think that his proposal would really contribute to stability in the province and what is most important gives chances to Serbs still be and feel as part of Serbia because they are no matter what. You see that is the problem that the EU and USA made by leaving resolution 1244 still valid and in force. All of them use that resolution when it suits them. According to that resolution Kosovo is Serbian province and please don’t try to deny it. According to that resolution Belgrade interpret Kosovo as part of Serbia while Pristina interpret Kosovo as independent country. So, let it then be and accept that Serbs should have their own institutions. What would be wrong with that, one place two systems? Nothing, that is the compromise and could make everyone happy. Believe me, physical partition is not in Serbia’s best interest because there are many Serbs living south of the Ibar river and they cannot be left out, there are also our cultural heritage which cannot be left as well.

Samardzic proposal leaves many opportunities for both sides in long run. All we need certain time for reconciliation and please do not blame the Serbs for having no trust in Albanian-led institutions as Serbs do not blame you of having no trust in their institutions. This proposal can be useful as I said for both sides because it may be made so that Serbs and Albanians both can use those institutions that in general function better. I don’t expect that to happen any soon but still after some time it could work for all. Border crossing and check points could be abolished in North and that should be negotiated. About the tax system there could be negotiations as well but in general everyone pays taxes to their financial centres. Very simple and very unique, indeed.

And for the end, just to make it clear how I understood it, Mr Samardzic proposal does not imply the functional partition only in the North since there is already de facto partition but for the entire Kosovo and those areas inhabited by Serbian majority. It is simple parallel system.
