It's about time to recognize the historical right of Kosova (Dardania) to have its destiny fulfilled-That is full independence. Kosova never was a Serbian province. It was there, since the times of birth of European civilization, a very distinct Dardanian/llyrian identity. Always populated by Dardanias who, although under constant pressure of forcefully migration by Serbian, Tito's Yugoslavia & Milosevic's Serbia, still make up 92% of the population. They speak ilirian language with the dialect GEGE. Serbs always have been a minority there. We know that Serbs appeared in Balkans (then llyria) only by the 6th Century AD, and they speak a language more similar to Ukrainians then Russians. They have always been a minority and 'the story' of Kosova being the Heartland of Serbia is just a pure Serbian nationalist fantasy. Facts Speak Louder Than Words and Serbian’s Lies Will Collapse by Themselves. Serbs always have been considered as oppressors there, not just by Albanian majority, but also by other ethnic groups too. Serbs just occupied Kosova during the rise of the Serbian nationalism early 20th century from Ottomans, who by then were loosing the Balkans after 500 years of occupation. Now Kosova should be Free!

Hey Stuart, the overwhelming majority of the ethnic cleansing happened AFTER you guys started bombing. You see, you guys created the ethnic cleansing, for it was a predicted consequence. We only wanted peace. But when you guys fund a terrorist organization with the goal of destabilizing the region... what can one do? You guys want war. We do not. We are peace loving, yet you guys are war loving.

Halimi I have no respect for. Another communist era type politician who rocks the boat whenever his funds or power dries up.

Then once he's been given a bit of power or more pennies in the piggy bank, he as sweet as pie again.

This may sounds cynical but am sorry to say this is the way it works.

BBC "Have your say" posters, are the most pessimistic and complaining bunch. They are against EVERYTHING. Read the comments on other topics as well, and you will realise.

They certainly don't reflect the view of general UK population

Marco, you meant Stuart, not Andy. Andy is supporting Serbia.

It is obvious no such survey exists and that the majority of British people strongly support Serbia. That is obvious from the comments made on BBC. I clicked on the "recommended" tab and couldn't find one comment that supported the Albanians within the first few hundred posts - so I just gave up.

The British government goes against the people once again. The last time that happened was with Iraq and we all know what a disaster that turned out to be.

@ Andy: Excuse me,which survey you are talking about? Read the BBC comments and you'll realize that most of the poeple are against this evil act, cowboy's way of doing! And the british gov. showed again their real nature: a puppet in the US hands! if Bush says the sky is green here we are G. Brown saying that the sky is green...What a joke!

Andy

Yes, I mentioned that yesterday. The British citizens have overwhelmingly supported Serbia but the government once again goes against them.

Stuart

No, Andy, you are incorrect. Opinion surveys show that most people in the UK support Kosovo independence, just as they supported intervention to stop the ethnic cleansing in 1999. The BBC have your say pages are dominated by people such as yourself, members of the diaspora etc.

Day 1 of "independent" Kosovo and Albanian politicians are already making smug, sarcastic, provocative comments to Serbia. What great diplomacy.

I really hope that the UK will not recognise this disaster of a "state" but I expect we will do America's bidding once again. You only need to look on the BBC's "Have Your Say" webpage to see that most UK citizens think that the independence declaration is a very bad thing.

It's obvious that this halimi doesn't have a clue with whome he has to deal in Belgrade! We have manners unlike someone down in Pristina. We dont need to cry under US and EU's skirts like a little kid and will get our land back!
