Victor, to answer your final question: I said 'good to see you return to this thread' as a way of saying that I appreciate you admitting your (small) mistake.
So it was meant totally positive, because I don't like it when people here leave one comment and then ignore all reactions to it. Even when they contain valid arguments.
Coming back means there's space to listen to each other's arguments and have a discussion instead of just a monologue. :-)

I agree, Mr Tadic made a move, but it was a personal one, and it did not engage his government. Therefore, it is of little value.

Victor, good to see you return to this thread.
Only *again* I feel the need to defend Tadic's record: he attended a Srebrenica memorial service, apologised to Croatia on Croatian national TV etc. AND had to endure a lot of criticism for this in Serbia.
I think he actually did a lot to improve the relations between Serbia and for example Croatia.
Finding someone like Mladic is not really the responsibility of the president, who in present-day Serbia has mainly a symbolic function. In my opinion Tadic definitely went the extra mile. Kostunica... that's another story.

Sorry, I was thinking of Kostunica! Tadic was elected in 2004, and has done very little during these 3 years to bring justice to the victims of the war.

Why, then, should he eye on three terms in office?

I thought you knew that I am a Quebecer. I have learnt English by myself.

Victor, for someone who obviously spends a lot of time on a Serbian newssite, you manage get it surprisingly wrong: Tadic was never PM.
You simply got it wrong in your first comment. Admit it instead of coming up with an alternative CV for the man...

I think that he was PM and then President, and doing both, he was very limited, because of the radicals and nationalists who still govern in the back seat!

Victor,

Anyways, I wanted to let you know that Serbia’s population is 50% women. That is also the percentage needed for an election victory; therefore, if the women of Serbia keep voting for Boris Tadic then he does not need any ’achievements’. Having women vote for him is an achievement in itself. Let me explain why.

Before SFRJ broke up, boys from across Yugoslavia were turned into men together interethnically. You can vouch for me on this one, Victor. When civil war started the passionate hatred exploded because of fear, pent up hatred and/or lack of peace time justice. When it was time for peace, and post peace achievements, these men were able to get along better than the women of former Yugoslavia because they had experience being together early in their manhood; whereas, the women have yet to get along in any type of close quarter relationship and learning of other cultures from comrades, or fellow JNA soldiers, such as yourself, other than politics, humanitarian and other non-government organizations during and after the civil war.

If 50% of the population will continue to be psychically healed or have a peace of mind by the re-election of President Tadic then he has achieved much. Plus, he’s been nice to Ana.

"Tadic was head of state for two terms"

thanks for the news from the future. tadic is serving his first term right now. facts are not your enemies, victor :) don't be afraid of them

What are the achievements of the last three years of Mr. Tadic as head of government? I notice that, as Putin in Russia, he thinks that he is irreplacable!

With all due respect, Tadic was head of state for two terms and he did not achieve much for the victims of the wars in the Balkans, Serbs or non-Serbs alike; therefore, I don't unjderstand why he should 'eye' on a third term as President of Serbia.
