Croatian have always had the upper hand in the Balkans with culture, art, music, industry, tourism, etc...so there is no reason why they should be even slightly bothered by what serbia or serbs think about them or whom Croatia supports, let's not forget that there isn't a single Balkan country who has not had a conflict that lead to brutal war with serbs, which was always started by serbs and it's the loneliest and most hated country in the balkans, period!

Croatia has not supported Kosovo's independence publicly, yet… I think with opening of the liaison office this is about to change. And I believe that Croatia is going to be the main supporter after Slovenia.

Blag, I never heard you sound so sad and broken... what’s up man… Anything we can do to enlighten you????

tony. you are dead wrong. i wont spout any rhetoric that you will claim as pro-serb. so instead why dont you do your research and go to FDI.com and see that serbia is european countruy of the year. and then go to the world bank and see that it is singled out in 2006 as reformer of the year. and after that go to wikipedia and compare gdp's. serbia is hot on your tail and will overtake the croat economy by the end of this year. in fact one must ask all the south east european economies why they are not farther along in their economic development when serbia faced 15 yrs of war, sanctions, and bombings? serbia's economy is ascendant.

oh please, everyone knows that serb arguement about croat nazi past is smokescreen to hide its own crimes. yet they forget about cetnik behaviour particularly in 2nd half of ww2. also, I guess my croatian grandfather who fought against ustashe in the croatian "domobrani" army is mistaken aswell. oh wasnt belgrade proclaimed as the first jewish free city in europe?

Oh and for your information, serbs are in coalition with the croatian party in government in croatia. once serbia reaches that stage, you can preach about peace and whats right and whats wrong.

Croatia is a success story, ranked 13 among the world's nations with the highest quality of life.
It is a tourism success story which draws many Americans to its dalmatian coast. With such growing economic power, it has the convenince to exert it on nations that once sought its destruction. You may guess who.

Croatia owes a large debt and a big thank you to all the Albanian mercenaries who fought mercilessly in order to help Croatia free itself of its Serb citizens either by killing or ethnically cleansing them. Is Agim Ceku getting a pension from the Croatian Army for being one of its most effective officers?

@Jovan

Serbia has a lot of catching up to do if it wants to be the regions economic leader. Serbia was forced to play by Croatia's rules when it came to CEFTA. Thanks to all of its political issues, Serbia is years behind Croatia and the gap continues to grow as you guys fail to give up on Kosovo and hand in Mladic and Karazdic.
Serbs claim because there growth is at 6% or whatever, that they'll eventually be the tiger of the balkans. However, they fail to see that their inflation rate in the past couple of years has consistently been at least double that amount lol

we'll all notice that this action does not follow international policy, since ahtissari's proposal has not yet been ratified.

furthermore, the international community doesn't really care about croatia's thoughts on the matter. croatia has yet to come to terms with its nazi past (and apparently present if you read the news), and the horrible things that brought to the balkans. what about the refugees and the crimes during the recent balkan wars?

maybe the croatians want to try to show that they can supposedly take a political and economic lead in the balkans by encouraging violence.

croalb and daniel:

what do you fear? in a few years, Serbia will be the regions economic leader, therefore you don´t have to fear it and finally you don´t have to act so naive...
Croatia and Serbia will work together very well, when its about money, don´t worry...

the Albanians will have to decide...because, ..you can´t eat independence... and some things Blag has outlined...are correct, ...Albanians simply refuse to accept it...but they will have to, some day.

cheers!

Hi Principe!
We still are together.
We always will be together to stop those terrible things that serbian nation brought and can bring to balkan.

daniel

yeah except that there is support in europe for kosovo independence. serbia can do all it likes because its past has meant that noone can take it seriously regarding anything.

I guess in which case Croatia won't mind Serbia opening a liaison office in Knin - as an expression on it's view on the future status of Krajina.
