Mr. Curious,
You claim that Kosovo does not have money and Serbia is paying Kosovo's debt. How naive, When Miloseviq took over he cleaned the banks of Kosovo, deposits from K-Albanians and funded the ballkan war. Before being forced out of Kososvo by NATO , everything and anything was stolen from Kosovo , and anything that could not be carried it was burned and/or destroyed.
The answer is YES, Kosovo can make it as a country on its own. Serbia has to pay a huge bill for war reparation to Kosovo. You will see.

Here are a couple of verses of Fan Noli's (the father of Albanian Orthodox Church and a poet) poetry, part of the school curriculum both in Kosovo and Albania:

Run, oh soldier of marathon

Run, oh run, yes, speed and tell them
That the foreign hordes are beaten,
That we held out, won the battle,
With our victory saved the city,
Run, oh run,
Sprint, oh soldier of Marathon!

Yes, you seized a branch of laurel,
Set off, flying down to Athens,
Over dales and through the valleys,
Hardly did your legs a-flying
Touch the ground while falling, rising,
Falcon hero, soldier of Marathon.

You arrive, proudly proclaim the
Cruel joy of that great message:
Crying: "We won!" having spoken,
Fall to earth in last convulsions,
Dead and perished!
Perished, soldier of Marathon!

Run forever blithe announcing
To the glory of the ages
That a lad has felled a giant,
Those oppressed have slain a tyrant,
All alone and all in union,
Union, soldier of Marathon!

Mr. S.Harris,
Here is another offended Albanian Orthodox person replying to your comments. I am replying for the benefit of some Serbs who maybe are really not aware of this, because the international community already knows it. By protraying Albanians as Muslims or Islamists you are missing the whole picture and offending the rest of us Albanian christians. One needs only look at any internationally recognized sources. Albanians are the most religious-tolerant people in the Balkans, and people of different faiths have always lived like brothers. I can tell you in my extended family I already have the Orthodox, Catholic and Muslim faiths represented. As an example of our tolerance, only two years ago both the President and Prime minister of Albania were of the Albanian Orthodox faith... and there has been no public attack on them which was based on their religion. Maybe some of our Balkan neighbors should follow this example. Albanians have never had a religious-based government and this will surely not happen in the 21st century. Your comments are an old and vain attempt to associate Albanians with Islamic terrorism, the hot issue in the West nowdays. The struggle in Kosovo has never been about religion, it has been about people's right to govern themselves and live free of oppression.

How do the Kosovar Albanians plan to run Kosovo as a "country" I mean they have no money, at the moment Serbia is paying Kosovo's debt. Kosovo has no real buisnes, when NATO forced Serbia out all the money for schools, hospitals stopped coming in.

Hey Sean Harris, stop using the term Albanian muslims, rather you should use Kosovar Albanians. Kosova is secular country, even though majority is muslim.I am muslim born but I drink beer and grapa every single day, and I can tell you that 90% of all Kosovar Albanians consume alkohol on daily bases. Now this should exclude any notion of potraying K-Albanina s as a Islamic country, absolutaly not true.
Harris you should let go of the hatred towards A-Kosovars, once and for all.

Gosh S. Harris! I am Albanian and I am not Muslim, just like about 30-40% of total of Albanians in the Balkans (most of those 30-40% being Orthodox of Albanian Orthodox Church). The religion of an Albanian is to be an Albanian. Main characteristic of Albanians is religious tolerance. One of the most important figures in Albanian history and culture is Fan Noli, the father/founder of the Albanian Autocefalous Orthodox Church. Another important figure in our history is of course - Mother Teresa.

So much time and energy is being lost on Serbia's province of Kosovo and Metohija where ethnic Albanian muslims have taken away the rights of Serbs and Others to live freely within their sovereign territory.
The international community must convince the ethnic Albanian muslims that they have only as much democratic rights as all citizens of democratic Serbia and because they have become a congested group in one area of Serbia they can be given high autonomy and encouraged to stop creating violent division.
The international community must concentrate and work on Serbia as a whole if it is seeking correction in its path towards the European Union.

i think. if serbs want to divide kosovo they should give back to kosovo, presheve, bujanovc and medvegj, and they can take mitrovica. This will also include seperationg of bosnia and macedonia, so technically will be pute ethnic countries in balkan.

"You cannot amputate the limb of a patient on his deathbed without consent; much less amputate 15 percent of a democratic nation’s territory in the 21st century.” Jočić said".
Of course you can amputate the limb of the patient , if he is not aware that amputating his limbs you will save his life, you don't need a consent if the patient is imature for his own good.
Another thing is that Serbian leaders should get together and decide what thay want , you can't have a democratic discutions when one leader wants war , the other one want to divide .No matter the final status(which everybody knows the final status gonna be independence ) you still will have those people Serbians living in Kosova, and you have to think the best for them , not using them for political porposes .I lived in Belgrade for few years and all the Serbians form Kosova were very discreminated in they own country from local Serbs,They were socialising with Albanians ,so if you really think for they own good Serbians politicians should change their policy , and think more about Serbians than themselfs.
