And who would get what? Are we talking everything north of the Ibar to Serbs and everything south to the Albanians? What about districts with historical Serb monasteries like Pec, Decani and Prizren? Gracanica is right in the middle of the province too. Are we also talking population exchanges like with Greece and Turkey in 1923? This idea of partition would only make things even more complicated I'm afraid. Not only that, it may galvanize Albanians in Presevo and Muslims in Raska to seek the same strategy.

Albanians and Serbs can live together if they see each other as equal.

Sandra, does that mean that the Serbs that only make up max 10 % of the population should get 10 % of the territory, or do you want 50 %?

What about the churches? You cannot move them?

One multiethnic, not controlled by Serbia Kosovo, is the best solution.

Ms. Rašković-Ivić finally admitted that Kosovo is lost for Serbia. By recommending partition, she is opening another can of worms that would affect areas outide Kosovo's current borders.

One thing I do not understand from Serbian officials is that they continue to present a list of "chronological crimes committed against Serbs in Kosovo in the last seven years", but they always fail to provide forensic evidence.

This leads us to believe that thousands of serbs "killed in Kosovo" after 1999 are probably now living in Serbia with new identities.

Oh everybody knows that serbia would agree in dividing Kosova, the question is what about Albanians in Presevo Valley then , we have to devide that side too,because as Serians don't like to live with Albanians , the feeling is mutual .This problem is very easy to be reso;ved , if Albanians in Presevo Valley will be treated democraticly , the Serbians as well in Kosova (Dardania) . One thing we all have to remmeber that there is no more propaganga , and Kosova belongs to Native population, Albanians . No more communist lies , no more mafia type of ethnic cleansing and genicide .Serbia kept Kosova under occupation for so long so,now they think is theirs .When we talk about refugees , 80.000 serbians left Kosova , just don't never forget since 1990 more than half of milion Albanians left Kosova , including myself ,and we left Kosova because of serbian repression and terrorism from serbians.

You call your selfs natives of the land and yet you have your own country right below Kosovo, let me get this straight are you an Albanian or Kosovo Albanian? this situation is very stupid I live in Ontario(Canada) that would be like me calling myself a "Otarian Canadian or somehing. Truth is there is NO such thing as a Kosovo Serb or Albanian you are talking about communist propoganda? the way I see it you Albanians are throwing a smoke screen of propoganda making it seem as if you want to make a new country but really it's just the dream of a greater Albania is'nt it? And it seems you dont know your histery too well have you ever even picked up a book? I work at Macmaster university so trust me I do, every book I read says Albanians migrated north to Kosovo over several years therefore not making you natives. The way I see it you seem to think just because theres more of you have the right to take the land but dont worry you'l get it and thats gona be a sad day for man kind. I am pretty sure Kosovo will be no better then Albania so dont lie and say it's gona be a succesful "so called country" were looking at the new Bosnia. you dont know what your talking about! first of all dont get involved into something that you know nothing of! you have never been to that area of the world therefore you have no right to judge people from that area let alone the Albanian people! kosovo as a territory has always been populated by Albanians way before the serbs immigrated to Kosovo area and as a fact you may read books about history writen by real historians from other countries rather than serbs or influenced slavs for that matter...the bottom line is I as an Albanian from Kosovo welcome my serbian neighbors back to my neighborhood where they lived before and i mean it as they have the same right as i do to live and prosper in peace and call Kosova home! they were born here after all just like i was! however they have to accept the new reality an independent Kosova home to its citizens!!!i turly beleive that the serb refugees from kosova living in serbia are being held hostage by their poiltitians and media they are being lied to and the worst is that they keep on telling them the same pathetic lies just like milosevic used to...i call for all the serbs that were born in Kosova to come back to their homes and live happily ever after alongside with their Albanian neigbors in a new reality... because life is to short to waste it

Division of Kosovo could be hardly recognized by international community. Contact group stated, that it would support only such solution, that would secure integrity of the teritory of Kosovo. On the other hand, it would definitely be precedent of another kind. Division and independence is not thinkable. It could in the future cause more harm than benefit.

The world police man will not allow partition of Kosovo anyway. Eventually the international community will offer Serbia a bargain (Republika Srpska) in exchange for an independent Kosovo. So best to hold out until the offer is made and then do what must be done. As for the monasteries, they sadly will be destroyed along with the Serbian population at the announcement of independence. IMO Kosovo should be held within Serbia. Ethnic conflict would subside considerably when economic prosperity returns to Serbia (15 years?). I don't believe Russia will allow for the precedent to be made.
