The people of Serbia have been offered a great chance to get rid of of two great barriers and make thier way towards the great family EUROPEAN UNION, like other ex YU nations did.
People of Serbia get rid of Kostunica likes, by supporting the independence of Kosova, let this hapen in civilised way, like your closesd brothers (Montenegro)had to break away because of your goverments (Milosevic,Kostunicas)policies.
The EU door has been opened for the people of Serbia, yu are wise enought no to close that door in a hope that Russias gate would offer you better life, the evidence from the past is clear, that's way all ex communist countries have become members of EU. If Milosevic and ambitions of few others to dominate Yugoslavia thrugh war and death of other YU nations did not hapen, WE Yugoslav nations toughether would have been member of EU long before any other East Europen country.
People of Serbia do not let another twenty years to pass by. Have a look what Poland, Hungary,Slovakia have achived for only the fraction of twenty years time which we all were robed by nationalistic poliutics.
Wake up support Serbian Integration in EU NOW.

You know the expression: If you really love them, set them free? So, if you (serbians) really love Kosovo as much as you are saying, let them free. Let them do whatever they want. Thats true love, isn't it?

Kosovo is heaven for foreigners who buy sex from prostitutes. Shame on them

To Milan C, Albanians are the most pro-West people in the Balkans, while Serbs are the opposite. You still protect war criminals like Mladic and Karadic.

You can all sit here and argue history over and over with one another....and achieve nothing. Or you can suck it up and move on, by realizing that the decision on the future status of Kosovo was made more than a year ago...conditional independence under EU supervision. This is clearly stated by the Contact Group, in that they proclaimed that the future status has to be acceptable to the majority population of the province. That is the 7 major world powers speaking. The present negotiations are not about the future status of Kosovo, but about the status of the Serbs in the future Kosovo state. The sooner everyone understands that, the sooner people can save themselves from useless never-ending historical arguments.

Kosovo must indeed be 'heaven' for KLA-sorry I mean 'Kosovo Police' not the Terrorists. Yeah, this 'Paradise' has the highest rate of people trafficking [sex slaves]drug smuggling & mafia crimes in Europe. Also a Black Hole Economy-exactly where have those billions in aid gone??
If U.S, true dismantler of Yugoslavia, is stupid enough to press for another Terrorist state then its 'grateful' Islamists will soon be aiming its bombs & missiles on Uncle Sam...Bring 'em on and let the American civilians have a taste of what the Serbs endured.Especially in Kosovo.

Ahmet, I think every Serb understands the Milosevic era, even better than Kosovar Albanians do because they had to live under direct oppression for 13 years, and very few tears are shed over his death. Yet while it is wrong to collectively blame every Albanian for individual crimes committed by overzealous UCK, so too is it premature to blame Serbian citizens for the crimes of Milosevic and his paramilitary forces. I'm not saying you are, but an issue such as Kosovo's future tends to get skewed in one direction very fast. As to the old argument of "who came here first", I believe that's of little relevance to the world today. Saying that Albanians are direct descendents of pre 6th century Illyrians is just as weak as saying present day Serbs are direct descendents of the 7th century Slav tribes, of Greeks are direct descendents of the Classical Period. People adapt, intermarry, and change identities over the centuries. Serbs and Albanians have just as much right to the land today because they both live there now. Both sides have committed atrocities against each other throughout history, and I for one certainly hope that this cycle of mutual distrust and antagonism finally comes to a close, irrespective of the final outcome of the region.

kosovo is indeed heaven compared to lebanon, sudan, congo, ethiopia and other poor conflict ridden parts of the planet. citizens here can enjoy coffee out late at night outdoors and cost of living is manageable. the problem is "public services" is not "equitablly distributed". multi-ethnicity in the broad sense is 10 years behind.

Nenad you seem to be down to earth person, but in order to understand Kosovar Albanians, you should be able to answer few questions to yourself before making a judgment;
1. Who initiated the break up of Yug.?
2. Who waged terrible war on all of its neighbors?
3. Who fully supported the person that started all this and continued to wage war on innocent peole?
4. This one is not question , but is a comment: Yugoslavia was an artificial state created at the end of second world war. Kosovar Albanians were in Kosova way before Serbs started migrating and we are talking way before 6Th century. After 6Th century serbs started coming to Kosova nad Albanians were allready there.
Please , do some research and you will find the truth.

Kosovo has always been of historical importance, not only to the Serbian people in Serbia, but to Serbs all over the world. Even though I am an Australian born Serb that has lived in Australia all my life, I feel as Kosovo is part of my background. I have read that the Romanian President has stated that Kosovo should be kept within Serbian borders and that there should be some dialoge on this issue. I tend to agree with him very strongly on this issue. From all the news reports I tend to get a hold of on this issue from Australia, I believe that the Serbian Government has been very flexible on their approach to the Kosovo issue. As I have been brought up in a multicultural country, I have been tought a lot about respect towards a lot of different type of people. However, I believe that the Albanian community in Kosovo is being narrow minded (even thought I can see there point of view to a certain extent to why want independance) to there approach. This does not necessarily mean that I dislike the Albanian people. I know at least one Albanian person who happens to be a very kind and polite person. I just hope that the Albanian people in Kosovo and the international community can start understanding the Serbian position on Kosovo as Kosovo is of historical importance, not only to Serbia, but to all of the Serbs all around the world and hope that a solution can come very soon to all the parties involved as I would not like to see another war break out in that area of the world again. I have seen a lot of bloodshed in that area of the world on tv as other areas of the world.

If the Albanians say that minorities living in Kosovo live under the best conditions, then it must be true! Everything that comes from the Albanian side is honest and pure, and the vile, war-mongering Serbs should just step aside and let Kosovo go free. The Serbs have no right to Kosovo anymore! It doesn't matter that the Albanians have ethnically cleansed all the Serbs from their province, and I believe them when they say that the Serbs left voluntarily or killed themselves. I know I believe every word spewed by the Albanian politicians, lobbyists, and dignified posters to this web site.

What was March of 2004? A great month for minorities in Kosovo?
How about all the recent shootings and bombings of Serbs?
Albanians elect war criminals like Ceku to be their leaders.
Serbs are safe? Please.

Abdul Latif Saleh, 48, have also been seized. Salef, who also holds Albanian citizenship, is on the US and UN lists of individuals supporting terrorism. In addition to Olympic gold in Heroin and Human Trafficing, resources should be allocated to remove this unjust labeling of this unfortunate individual. Bob Dole is still accepting donations. What does this have to do with Kosovo...everything!
