While the US has use for Kosovo they are not giving it away any time soon but once they no longer have use or are given something by the Serbs they like more they are going to abandon you.
(Peggy, 3 August 2018 03:55)

Ok, let's assume that what you are describing will happen in year X. That still means that Kosovo is outside the control of Serbia' army and police from 1999 to year X and whatever happens in year X would not change the fact of Kosovo being outside the control of Serbia' army and police from the year 1999 to year X.

So, Kosovo is already better off (compared to being under the control of Serbia' army and police), regardless of whether what you describe happens or not :)

Wrong. It's a fiction - as one would expect from you.

Only three municipalities in Serbia have a positive childbirth rate; Novi Pazar, Tutin and Presheva - according to official government statistics.

Our little fake Italian Albo. Of course, its wrong; why you went there and countered all your Albos
They are pumping them out like rabbits LOL. Have you returned to replenish the stock?
Don’t know what stats you are talking about. If it was 1980 then yes, but its 2018 and in Preshavo unemployment was and is extremely high and many of your Albos have gone much like the 500,000 in Kosova that have had to leave due to high living standards.
You have to have two since you can’t be this silly playing with only one.

I'm surprised b92 hasn't brought up the topic of NATO investing in an existing airbase in Albania. My speculation, is it going to be theirs or ours. If you see F-16s over Kosovo, it's ours. If you see Eurofighters it's theirs.

Tom L'Orizi

Well there are very few Albanians left in Preshavo and that is a fact so its out. In Bosnia Croats are now in such a decline that they are no longer considered as one of the three constituted peoples of Bosnia but a minority so Bosnia is out. The problem areas would be Montenegro and Macedonia.
However this is only theoretical about the Albanians taking anything over since large areas of Albania itself are empty due to people immigrating (over 1 million in the last decade) to the EU or elsewhere.

Nothing Srbija can do about it...today! just wait it out, Srbija..your time to "fix" everything is soon to come..it always does;)
(Watcherovic, 2 August 2018 15:25)

How can Serbia of today do nothing - as you rightfully say - but it can fix everything "soon to come" by thinnig out at the rate of 107 a day, every single day!? How soon is "soon to come" in conjunction with 107 a day?

You better go out and see your eastern Serbia. Start from Vranje all the way to Zaječar and you will see that in all that space you will struggle to put together 500000 people - vastly old. You are slowly becoming a stark competitor to sj in fiction.

The idea of greater Albania/Serbia will never die. This fact alone is reason to worry. Especially when it comes to albanians. They see that the international community is turning a blind eye to many of the problems they are creating and broken agreements with Serbia. Serbs in Bosnia consider themselves independent and what remains of Bosnia will never make it alone or accept a greater Serbia project. On the other hand legaly serbs have the right to form greater Serbia if Albanians are allowed the same. Will be difficult for the international community to accept one but not the other.
Also don’t think you are correct regarding croat parts of Bosnia. Its still territory croats are ready to defend with war if neccessary. Ultimately we can never have a situation where everyone is satisfied. This is why the threat of violence will never be erased.

sj

pre 5 godina

Seems like new conflicts are in the making. What if Serbia and RS now unite? And croats come for parts of Bosnia? Albanians will not stop here. They will go after Presevo, Montenegro and Macedonia. However, this will be risky since they now lack the support they once had. They also lack the military power to wage any kind of war. Another major conflict is not to far away I’m afraid.

It ridiculous how you guys always point the finger to the Albanians :)

You never mention the fact that the US has a huge military base in Kosovo, or the fact that previous US or EU officials have now huge economical interests in the country. And that the WEST controls absolutely everything.

You also never mention openly the fact how many objects were destroyed during the bombing of Serbia, or how many Serbian lives were lost in that period...Are churches in Kosovo more important than those casualties.

Yes, the reality we know today might change in the future. Maybe Serbs might turn into the well behaved dogs they used to be during Tito's time and lick US hand in order to become their favorite balkan child once again (you are very jealous you lost that position). And I am not even saying that might not be another war in the future. God Knows

First of all, talking about "open borders" is a misnomer and more Clickbait than anything else. There will still be a "border" with "border crossing" points. What's being referred to here is duty-free, tariff-free, and visa-free conditions of travel. Anyone who honestly thinks the actual "border" is going to be removed is either delusional or purposefully delusional.

Second, this type of "open borders" already exists elsewhere: between Serbia and Bosnia (via RS), between Serbia and Montenegro, between Bosnia and Croatia (via Hercegovina), and already between Serbia Proper and the territory of Kosovo. I'd share the shock of some officials in Belgrade if this was the first time it was mentioned anywhere.

Finally, this will benefit Albania more than Kosovo in terms of travel. I really can't imagine anyone from Albania crossing into Kosovo when so many Albanians already *in* Kosovo are eager to buy a one-way ticket out. If anything, Albania's population will grow from Kosovo's as is already seen from Croatia's and Serbia's population growing at Bosnia's expense.

Just like Croatia has an "open border" with the rest of the EU, which explains why Slavonia is rapidly depopulating.

Someone need to tell Djuric to open an history book and learn that Enver Hoxha and Greater Albania cannot possibly be together. Enver Hoxha was the most pro Jugosllav in the Albanian Communist Party. He was installed by them and kept there despite the crimes during their own during the war. He was ready to have Albania join Jugoslavia even more than Tito up untill July 1947. He sent Albanian partisans to Kosovo to help jugoslav partisans “pacify” Kosovo from Albanian Nationalists and had secret deal with Tito to return back to Yugoslavia all Albanian nationalists escaping Rankovic’s repression’s.. in short EH was a jugo stooge.

Legally, Serbia's southern province of Kosovo and Metochja is not an independent country and therefore has no borders to open. It is Belgrade which must decide on this matter.

This is not hard to see that your point is not valid, Serbia has no way of stopping it and EU neither as free movement of goods and people is key to EU. Why then Germany and France have no border?

From the perspective of an Albanian who has moved out of the region for 20 years, fearing the free movement of people between Kosovo and Albania is illogical.

1. There is no visa regime between Serbia, Albania Or Kosovo.
2. All are moving toward the EU and an open border policy.
3. Serbia should pursue open borders with Kosovo and Albania (irregardless of what it thinks about the status of Kosovo). This would de-facto give it see access beyond Montenegro.
4. Culturally and genetically the people of the balkans are the same, a mixture of Mediterranean and Slavic populations. They only differ linguistically, but these do not match current findings by 23andme and the academic research.

The idea is to give people everywhere they live, the freedom to practice their language, religion and other beliefs, but abolish Nationalistic notions that do not contribute to prosperity, but rather feed a small class of politicians in all nations.

The opening of the borders is the mutual will between Albania and Kosovo. Both countries, independent on their own, wish to open their border to each other and nobody can impede that. In the case between Serbia and Kosovo, I don’t know for Serbia, but Kosovo would certainly not want such opening of the border with Serbia. So the comment of Djuric “What if Serbia opens borders with Kosovo” is irrelevant and misleading.

I always love it when Albanians of the Diaspora flex nuts everyone knows they didn't have in 1999 when they desperately needed NATO to intervene in their secessionist war to prevent them from being referred to in the past tense whenever Kosovo would have been mentioned thereafter. Last I checked, NATOs intervention kept them off the endangered species list, so so much for Albanian machismo and bravado :)

"Djuric: Hoxha is dead, and Albania has no border with Kosovo."

Thanks for letting us know about Hoxha's death... we didn't know about it hahahha This guy is hilarious..

When Hoxha was alive the border with Kosovo was sealed and heavily guarded so the reference to Hoxha is just stupid and makes no sense at all. haha lol

Serbian and espeacially Vucic officials in general are so ignorant and foolish that you kinda feel sorry for them.

As for the Border between Serbia and Albania he is right. There is no border between Albania and Kosovo.. but there is one between Albania and Serbia, at Jarinje in the north and soon in the southeast , in Presheva Valley.

Bye bye and happy summer.

Legally, Serbia's southern province of Kosovo and Metochja is not an independent country and therefore has no borders to open. It is Belgrade which must decide on this matter.

Serbia did nothing when Kosovo and Montenegro negotiated the border!

This is not hard to see that your point is not valid, Serbia has no way of stopping it and EU neither as free movement of goods and people is key to EU. Why then Germany and France have no border?

Look no need for great Albania in old 1900s type a way, now you can integrate have same school system people even today move between both places with guards just waiving you.

Absolutely correct.
You seem to be the only realist from Albanian side here. The rest of your brothers and sisters keep claiming how they are the ones in charge and they kicked our butts.
While the US has use for Kosovo they are not giving it away any time soon but once they no longer have use or are given something by the Serbs they like more they are going to abandon you.

My question is, do you guys ever worry about that because as you said, you cannot win against us without big power behind you?

Seems like new conflicts are in the making. What if Serbia and RS now unite? And croats come for parts of Bosnia? Albanians will not stop here. They will go after Presevo, Montenegro and Macedonia. However, this will be risky since they now lack the support they once had. They also lack the military power to wage any kind of war. Another major conflict is not to far away I’m afraid.

God Knows

All I am saying is that Albanians are not what's keeping you away from Kosovo...US and NATO are.

Please have the decency to tell your people the reality once in a while. You did not loose the region to Albanians, you were bombed, massacred, violated and raped from the world's biggest powers...who then put the Albanians in power.

Nothing Srbija can do about it...today! just wait it out, Srbija..your time to "fix" everything is soon to come..it always does;)

Djuric is correct (amazingly)

Enver Hoxha died 1985 and for 46 years families were separated and isolated from each other (Yugoslavia and Albania)
No one could exit, receive mail or phones calls or even visit.Worse than incarceration!
This proves Serb fantasy of Mass Albanian migration to Kosova to be just another serb fairytale....

Albania and Kosova don’t have borders!

I'm surprised b92 hasn't brought up the topic of NATO investing in an existing airbase in Albania. My speculation, is it going to be theirs or ours. If you see F-16s over Kosovo, it's ours. If you see Eurofighters it's theirs.
