A documentary film by Belgrade director Janko Baljak and one of the best Croatian journalists Drago Hedl - "Vukovar - The Final Cut" is a story about the Vukovar tragedy told by the warring parties from different angles. This film observes the fundamental documentary and journalist rule - there is no story without both sides giving their accounts, hence "The Final Cut" features Tomislav Merčep and members of the White Eagles unit, Vesna Bosanac and Brana Crnčević, Martin Špegelj and Serbian volunteers, Branko Borković and Vojislav Stanimirović…
The fact that someone dared tell a story from two different angles is controversial enough in the myopic Croatian milieu with narrow-minded views. However, shedding some light on the circumstances surrounding the massacre in Borovo Selo, the departure of Tomislav Mer?ep from Vukovar, atrocities and armament of Croat units will prove to be enticing enough for viewers - both the ones who have been awaiting the real truth about Vukovar for over ten years and those who are convinced that the truth has already been told once and for all in the Croatian Television, HTV, central news shows.
