EU "has no comment" after Pristina suspends agreement

The EC spokesperson also added that "both Pristina and Belgrade are responsible for the implementation of the Brussels agreement on the ZSO."

Asked to explain the position of the European Union - which brokered and fully supported the Brussels agreement - in the wake of Pristina's decision, spokesperson Maja Kocijancic said: "We do not comment on ongoing judicial proceedings, we expect that the agreement of August 25 will be implemented. Both sides are responsible for their part of the job in the implementation of the agreement. "

EC's annual progress report about EU candidate countries, published yesterday, "emphasizes that key agreements were reached in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue on August 25, 2015."

According to Beta, it "stresses there was agreement on general principles/basic elements for drafting and adopting the Statute of the Community/Association of municipalities with Serb majority in Kosovo."

The report of the European Commission stated also that "the text establishes the legal framework of the Community/Association, its objectives, organizational structure, relations with central authorities, legal powers, budget and financial support and determine the modalities/next steps for its establishment."

Kosovo's Constitutional Court on Tuesday suspended the agreement reached on August 25 by Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa.

The court said it will announce by January its opinion on whether the agreement is in accordance with the constitution of Kosovo
