Mogherini: Adoption of amendments, laws important step

In a release, Mogherini said that the step of Kosovo MPs was not an easy one but it is a sign of responsibility and determination to reach the truth and adopt decisions in keeping with Kosovo's European path.

The EU is committed to providing assistance in the process and continuing cooperation with everyone so as to complete the process aimed at establishment of necessary legal mechanisms which will make it possible to launch independent and fair court proceedings in near future, states the release.

The Kosovo parliament adopted on Monday the constitutional amendments that will open the room for constitution of a special court in charge of crimes committed by the Kosovo Liberation Army, and the draft law on the special court and special prosecutor's office was also backed in principle during the parliament session.
