BELGRADE The governments of Serbia and Morocco signed five agreements on cooperation in business, science, finance and veterinary medicine. The agreements are meant to "contribute to the re-establishment and advancement of economic ties between the two countries which have historically had good political relations." Serbia and Morocco sign five agreements This was heard from the co-chairmen of a mixed committee for economic cooperation, Serbian Minister without portfolio Sulejman Ugljanin and Moroccan Minister for General Affairs and Governance Mohamed Najib Boulif. The mixed committee was in session on Wednesday and Thursday in Belgrade for the first time in 30 years, which Ugljanin called a major step for the future. Ugljanin stressed the Serbian government's goal is to elevate cooperation with African and Asian countries to the level it was at during the former Yugoslavia. Boulif noted that speedy implementation of the agreements is more important than the act of signing them. The Moroccan minister thanked the Serbian government for organizing the mixed committee session and the attention lavished on the Moroccan delegation, who had a chance to meet with the Serbian president and prime minister. We think the atmosphere we encountered in Serbia surrounding our visit obligates us to take the positive spirit and experiences in cooperation back to Morocco, so the Moroccan side can respond appropriately, said the minister. Boulif and Serbia's Agriculture Minister Goran Knezevic signed an agreement on cooperation in veterinary science, while he and Serbia's Minister of Trade and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic inked another two agreements - on reciprocal incentives and protection of investments, and on the establishment of a mixed commission for trade, economic, and science and technical cooperation. With Ugljanin, the Moroccan minister signed a protocol of the session of the mixed committee for economic cooperation. Also on Thursday, Boulif and Serbia's Finance and Economy Minister Mladjan Dinkic signed a double taxation avoidance agreement between Serbia and Morocco. Representatives of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the General Confederation of Enterprises of Morocco also signed a cooperation agreement.
