ABU DHABI Serbia's First Deputy PM and Defense Minister Aleksandar Vucic and United Arab Emirates (UAE) FM Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed have signed several agreements. The two officials met in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. Several agreements signed with UAE The signed agreements include the one on interstate cooperation, Vucic's office announced. The Serbian first deputy prime minister and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed signed an agreement on mutual stimulation and protection of investments, an agreement on cooperation in the field of defense, a joint statement on establishment of strategic partnership, which marked the end of the two-day visit of the Serbian delegation to the UAE. This is a great day for relations between our two states, and what is even more important than this ceremony is that in the next several months, citizens of the UAE and Serbia will see how serious our governments are in establishing these ties between our two countries, of which we can be proud, the Sheikh told reporters after the signing of agreements. Earlier on Sunday, the first deputy prime minister attended the opening of the largest defense trade show in the Middle East, IDEX, and together with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited the stand of Serbian company Yugoimport SDPR. “Serbia will produce highly sophisticated missiles for the United Arab Emirates (UAE),” the deputy prime minister said after the tour of the trade show, and announced the signing of a contract worth around EUR 200 million. It was agreed that the UAE's company Emirates Advanced Research and Technology Holding (EARTH) and Serbia's Yugoimport SDPR will sign a contract on mutual development of ALAS missile systems.
