International Day against Fascism and Anti-Semitism is marked today and a central manifestation in Serbia will be led by Education Minister Žarko Obradović.

BELGRADE International Day against Fascism and Anti-Semitism is marked today and a central manifestation in Serbia will be led by Education Minister Zarko Obradovic. The ceremony will be attended by representatives of the Serbian parliament and government, WWII veterans, people who survived WWII death camps and the Holocaust and National Hero Medal recipients. Serbia marks International Day against Fascism Representatives of the diplomatic corps, Jewish and Roma communities, religious communities, scientific institutes, museums and public figures will also attend the manifestation. The violence that took place in the streets of German towns on November 9, 1938 marked the beginning of an organized, legalized and publicly supported pogrom of Jews which ended in death of six million innocent children, women and men. The event, known as Crystal Night, is considered a symbolical beginning of the Holocaust and it is marked as the International Day against Fascism and Anti-Semitism. (Beta, file) Tanjug
