Serbian currency drops by 0.3 percent

The Serbian dinar dropped by 0.3 percent Wednesday, setting the official middle exchange rate at RSD 117.0407, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) has released.

BELGRADE The Serbian dinar dropped by 0.3 percent Wednesday, setting the official middle exchange rate at RSD 117.0407, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) has released. The dinar scored its greatest low on August 9, with the exchange rate at RSD 119.0723 while its highest was recorded on January 11, with the exchange rate at RSD 103.6922. On Tuesday, the dinar is weaker than euro by 1.6 percent than it was a month ago, while the drop on the annual level totals 13 percent. The indicative exchange rate of the dinar against the U.S. dollar totaled RSD 94.8312, which constitutes a 0.5 percent drop relative to the day before. Since the beginning of the year, NBS sold EUR 1.347.5mn so as to prevent excessive daily oscillation of the exchange rate.

On Tuesday, the dinar is weaker than euro by 1.6 percent than it was a month ago, while the drop on the annual level totals 13 percent.

The indicative exchange rate of the dinar against the U.S. dollar totaled RSD 94.8312, which constitutes a 0.5 percent drop relative to the day before.

The Serbian currency is now weaker than the U.S. dollar by 24.9 percent than a year ago.
