Authenticity of Croatia massacre videos examined

Serbia's Deputy War Crimes Prosecutor Bruno Vekaric said late Saturday that authenticity of videos made in Dvor na Uni in August 1995 was still being examined. He said that if proved authentic they could help uncover the perpetrators of the crime against Serb civilians. Authenticity of Croatia massacre videos examined Vekaric added that a Danish UNPROFOR formation that was present at the scene would "also help to uncover some facts which were unknown until now." "We are still in the process of verifying the authenticity of the videos, and once we get definitive confirmation that they are real, we will truly be very close to the perpetrators of one of the most serious crimes to take place in that period in the former Yugoslavia," he told Radio Television of Serbia (RTS). In late January, Serbia's War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic visited Copenhagen where he deposed Danish soldiers who were witnesses to the crime against civilians in Dvor na Uni. RTS reported Saturday that it had gained access to an official note of the Danish UNPROFOR battalion, which says that Croatian soldiers were in Dvor na Uni from the early morning of August 8, 1995, the day when nine handicapped Serb civilians and a Croat woman were killed. Unlike Croatian daily Vecernji List, which published an official note pointing at members of the Fifth Corps of the Bosnian army as the killers, RTS reported that the note it obtained indicated that members of the Croatian army were at the scene. RTS also broadcast a video "shot 100 meters from the school in which the massacre occurred two hours later," and noted this is in line with the official note, which explained whose soldiers were present.
