Government sets up National Council for Tourism Development

According to the government's website, the new body aims to establish "coordination and communication of all involved parties in the development of the tourism industry and the positioning of Serbia on the tourist map of the world."

The task of the Council will be to point out the importance of increasing competitiveness in the field of tourism in Serbia, as well as achieving a better business climate in tourism.

The government also passed the conclusion on the adoption of the sontract for the preparation of a preliminary design with a feasibility study for the rail section Novi Sad-Subotica-State Border (Kelebija with Hungary).

A joint project of modernization of the railway line that connects Budapest with Belgrade is a key project within the framework of cooperation between the People's Republic of China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, the government announced.

At a meeting of the Joint Working Group held in June this year, it was decided that on the entire route of the railroad linking Budapest with Belgrade, trains would travel at speeds up to 200 kilometers per hour.
