Pristina is yet to officially apply for UNESCO membership, and that is why the topic has not been included in the session of organization's Executive Board.

Pristina's bid not on agenda of UNESCO Executive Board

Since UNESCO's plenary meetings will start as soon as on Monday, the chances of Pristina applying are minimal, Serbia's ambassador to UNESCO, Darko Tanaskovic, has confirmed.

Tanaskovic said that our delegation has the situation under control, but was at the same time leaving nothing to chance, and will remain on standby until the last moment.

Pristina will have an opportunity to fight this fight again in two years time. In 2015, the membership bid failed by only three votes.
