Belgrade surgeon shoots actress, commits suicide - reports

Media reports said on Thursday that a shooting occurred in Belgrade's Dedinje neighborhood earlier in the morning, resulting in the death of one man.

Belgrade surgeon shoots actress, commits suicide - reports

The dailies Blic and Vecernje Novosti said that the woman was 30-year-old actress whose initials are I.P., and that she was shot and wounded by S.C., a surgeon who worked at the military clinic VMA.

The man then committed suicide with a shot to the head.

According to Vecenje Novosti, I.P. called the police before the incident - that took place at around 04:00 hours - to report that her partner, S.C., was "chasing her around the apartment with a knife." The police arrived at the scene two minutes later, but the shooting had already taken place.

Blic is reporting that S.C. - a 59 year-old plastic surgeon - first shot the woman, with whom he lived, and later committed suicide. The bullet grazed the woman's head and she was taken to the VMA, the daily said.
