The jury, comprised of 30 cinema enthusiasts selected in a nationwide competition, unanimously gave the award to Paskaljevic's film, Tanjug reported.

This year's festival gathered 75,000 visitors and many guests, including the likes of Claudia Cardinale, Fanny Ardant, Greta Scacchi, Margarethe von Trotta, and Andrei Konchalovsky.

The festival is held under the auspices of the Italian president. The event's director, former Venice Film Festival organizer Felice Laudadio, has over the past eight years managed to propel the Bari Festival into one of Italy's most important film gatherings.
