Verdi Address: 5 Terazije Sq., Belgrade Phone: +381-11-32-22-401 Working hours of restaurant and kitchen: noon – 11 p.m., closed on Sunday City transportation: bus: 26, 31, 37; trolley: 19, 21, 22, 29 Credit cards: Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Maestro, Dina, Diners, American Express Parking: 1st zone Music: evergreen, pop, Italian Menu: in Serbian, English and Italian Staff speak: English Cuisine: Italian Main courses: 510 – 1,250 dinars Booking: advisable Non-smoking area: yes Available for hire: yes The interior is light and elegant, while the menu offers the most complete selection of Italian cuisine, from pastas and pizzas to meat specialties and fish (sea fish) specialties. The beef carpaccio seemed like an interesting choice for the entrée, but the meat was somehow watery and with a recognizable aroma (served with parmesan slices and cherry tomatoes). This was followed by a tasty pumpkin pottage whose aroma, taste and thickness were on the spot. At the recommendation of the versed staff, we chose pasta with salmon and zucchini and beefsteak in olive oil. Both dishes were generous in quantity and very qualitative. The combination of ideally cooked past with fish and zucchini presented a harmonious blend of tastes. On the other hand, the beefsteak cut into slices (excellent quality meat, prepared in such a way that the middle remained rosy) was served with grilled vegetables in olive oil – a seemingly simple, but very effective gastronomic experience. For the salad, the one with radish and rocket salad went well with the food and brought a dose of refreshment. From the long list of desserts, we chose the overly mild tiramisu served in a glass and a very good cream caramel. The wine card nicely follows the food offer. In one sentence: a place of subtle elegance, select clientele and good cuisine at the heart of the capital. Meal for two, without wine: 4,000 dinars. This exclusive Italian restaurant in the strict city center is located at the end of one of the passages emerging onto the once popular Cumicevo Sokace.
