LNR security officials also said they captured a group from Ukraine's volunteer battalion Aidar on suspicion they were planning terrorist attacks in the region, reports Sputnik.

"From 23:00 hours last night until six o'clock this morning, our forces registered the movement of armored vehicles of Ukrainian troops from the city of Belovods, which is under their control, in the direction of Stanica-Luganskaya. The transported equipment includes various types of artillery," a statement said.

Meanwhile the captured Aidar members are said to have admitted to planing terrorist activities in crowded public places for the purpose of destabilization, the press service of the LPR's Ministry of State Security has said.

Aidar is one of several volunteer radical nationalist armed groups formed after the Maidan coup last year. It is now under the command of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, said the Russian website.

Amnesty International and the OSCE have accused the battalion of human rights violations and war crimes against civilians in eastern Ukraine, according to the report.
