Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic met in Rome on Friday with Italy's Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni.

Dacic meets with Italy's foreign minister in Rome
Relations between Serbia and Italy are excellent and there are options for improving their economic cooperation, especially in infrastructure and transport, the Serbian Foreign Ministry has said.Dacic and his Italian colleague discussed also the priorities of Serbia's OSCE chairmanship, the upcoming 4th joint meeting of the two governments and Gentiloni's visit to Serbia.
Dacic arrived in Rome on Friday at Gentiloni's invitation, and he will also attend a trilateral meeting between the foreign ministers of Serbia, Albania, and Italy.
That meeting will discuss "efforts to preserve the stability of the entire region and strengthen regional cooperation towards a joint future and a common European path," the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
Dacic announced that he will discuss with his Italian and Albanian colleagues Paolo Gentiloni and Ditmir Bushati "the efforts towards stability in the entire region," but "did not rule out discussions on unpleasant topics with the Albanian minister."
"Of course, we will probably also discuss unpleasant topics, but that is an integral part of foreign affairs. We must look for what we agree on, and we know enough about what we do not agree on," Dacic said.
He said that these "unpleasant topics" are related to "incidents that have taken place and the exchange of demarches between us," noting that all those issues will be addressed in a bid to normalize relations and calm the situation.
