Radicals submit petition for removal of president

SRS leader Vojislav Seselj told reporters today that he did not expect parliament’s majority to endorse such an initiative, but that the move served "to point out to the violations of the Constitution perpetrated by the Serbian president, and the indolence of people's deputies."

He noted that the Serb Radical Party was formed on this day 25 years ago, "traveling a glorious road of fighting politically for the interests of the Serb people," but also "unfortunatelly producing some of the greatest Serb traitors."

For this reason, the Radicals decided to celebrate by submitting signatures in calling for the removal of Nikolic from office, Seselj revealed.

He believes that “Nikolic must be dismissed because he violated the Constitution by accepting the Brussels agreement,” and also because he “graduated from university in a criminal manner, and made himself a spokesperson for his wife’s foundation.”

The Radicals collected a total of 36,140 signatures and submitted the petition to the assembly registry office.

The initiative can be included in the agenda only if a deputy club supports it.
