PM to attend World Economic Forum in Davos

During the two-day visit, Vucic, who will be among the speakers, will confer with heads of state and governments and managers of leading world corporations, the Serbian government said in a statement.

The Forum in Davos will gather over 2,500 participants, including 40 presidents and prime ministers and representatives of major world companies.

The event will bring together a record number of politicians and business people who will, as expected, "examine the possibilities for strengthening cooperation in the light of increasing global insecurity."

The decline in oil prices, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and the threat of a new crisis in the eurozone, but also the fight against terrorism, especially after the attack in Paris, are the topics expected to dominate the gathering.

Others include unemployment, increasing material differences between rich and poor and entrepreneurship.

Klaus Schwab, founder and WEF executive chairman, said earlier that leaders today are faced with new challenges due to their complexity, speed and interconnectedness.

"The priority in 2015 is a way of overcoming them. Therefore, the task of every leader is not only to ensure sustainable growth, but also to rebuild confidence," he said.

Among those who will participate are Egyptian president Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, Jordan's King Abdullah II and Iraqi Prime Minister al-Abadi Aider, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and French President Francois Hollande.

Germany will be represented by Chancellor Angela Merkel, and China by Prime Minister of China Li Keqiang, while the delegation of the Russian Federation will led by Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov, since President Vladimir Putin canceled his participation.
