Spanish authorities seized nearly one ton of cocaine from a yacht off the Canary Islands and arrested its three crew members, among them a citizen of Serbia.

Nearly 950 kilos of cocaine was found inside the boat."The crew, two Ukrainians and a Serb, once again confirm the involvement of criminal groups in the transportation of cocaine from South America to Europe," the statement said.
Last week the Spanish police seized nearly 600 kilos of cocaine from a Czech-registered sailing boat about 450 nautical miles southwest of the Canary Islands and arrested four Czech crew members.
Last year, Spain seized a total of 27 tons of cocaine, 28.6 percent more than in 2012.
