Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić said on Tuesday the 2015 state budget would be "prepared on time, like in previous years."

"Next year's budget, which should be adopted by November 1, will be within Serbia's means," he told a news conference after a meeting with a German business delegation.

Serbia recorded the best rate of excise tax collection related to oil and cigarettes in September and October, better than the same period last year, which he believes indicates that the battle against cigarette smuggling is beginning to yield results.

The collection of VAT is also better than expected, so the deficit will be smaller than projected, he added.

"All the parameters important for the country improved in September and the first half of October. Everything is improving for us," he stated.

Vučić noted that IMF officials would soon visit Serbia, but that a World Bank delegation would precede them.
