EU disappointed, commends authorities

During a regular press briefing at the European Commission, she denied that the EU was involved in the incidents at the match in any way.

"We discard the allegations by certain Serbian media concerning the EU's role in this," Kocijancic said.

The EU has nothing to do with last night's incidents, Kocijancic told reporters, adding that Brussels is disappointed with the fact that the match was abandoned.

As she added, EU officials think that politics should not be governed by provocations in a stadium.

"We underline the importance of regional cooperation and welcome the planned visit by Prime Minister (Edi) Rama to Serbia," she added.
