Police officers on strike since this morning

Serbian Police Trade Unions began a strike performing only the most important tasks in the field, and 91.6 percent of the workforce responded to the protest.

Police officers on strike since this morning

He said that none of their regular duties are performed, such as issuing documents or apprehension of perpetrators. Exceptions are perpetretors caught caught red-handed in severe criminal offenses.

According to him, all employees who wish so plead that they are on strike and that is part of the procedure.

"This is not really a good moment and the lawyers are on strike as well, but we do not give up," said Vidojević.

He said employees got the day off in many police departments today so as not to be recorded as being on strike.

The Police seek extension of the existing Special Collective Agreement until a new one has been signed, payment of arrears to employees of the Ministry of Interior in the form of compensation for commuting to and from work and payment of jubilee awards, as well as a guarantee of Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic that the additional reduction in earnings will not be applied to the employees of the Ministry of Interior.

The Independent Trade Union of Police is on strike, as well as the Serbian Police Trade Union and one Fire Brigade Union supports them.
