"Ambitious subsidies to agriculture in Kosovo"

He visited the Agricultural Cooperative Zubin Potok in in northern and talked to its leaders about supporting its business in order to make it even more efficient and successful.

"Our goal is to help successful businesses like this one, which are a cause for pride to our entire nation, far beyond Kosovo," he noted.

The Zubin Potok cooperative ships raspberries to central Serbia, he stated, adding that Serbia needed dozens of such cooperatives in Kosovo.

"We wish to remove all the administrative and bureaucratic obstacles for trade in agricultural and other products between central Serbia and Kosovo," he noted.

He is convinced the Serbian national interest in Kosovo and other places throughout Serbia was best protected through work and quality production, and that the government is obligated to help out.

A meeting between ministries was held at the government headquarters on Tuesday to adopt a set of measures that will help develop agriculture and economy in Kosovo, he pointed out. A working group was formed between the Ministry of Economy, Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the office of Kosovo, he stated.

The cooperative Zubin Potok was founded before World War Two and has operated almost without interruption since then.

It breeds fish, buys and processes fruit and vegetables and employs 51 people. It has partners in Serbia and abroad.
