Zhou said that the relations between the two countries are very good but that the Chinese side is considering the options for further intensifying and expanding the commercial and economic activities, the Serbian Radio and Television (RTS) reports.

China wants to stimulate financial institutions, such as commercial banks and investment banks, and provide strong support to individuals sectors in Serbia, in order to increase the trade and investment potentials, he siad.

"Our companies are also interested in new investments. Cooperation can be established between Serbian and Chinese banks, and our banks can finance Chinese companies looking to invest in Serbia. There is also an opportunity for Serbian investors to consider their prospects in China. Therefore, there is a vast potential for cooperation between the two financial markets, not only of China and Serbia, but also between the markets of the region and Asia," Zhou said.

The fact that Serbia has a strategic cooperation agreement with China offers numerous possibilities to the country, he stressed.

Speaking of the macroeconomic and financial stability in Serbia, Zhou said that the central bank must preserve the financial stability and the stability of prices, adding that he shared his experiences related to the latest standards of bank supervision with the Serbian central bank governor Jorgovanka Tabaković.
