Krstić resigns as finance minister

Krstić said that he advocated for a program that includes wage and pension cuts, layoffs and the market price of electricity, which would be "almost impossible to implement under present conditions."

The prime minister and the minister of finance must see eye to eye on the steps that need to be taken and on the deadlines for taking them, and Vučić "understands best what can be done at this moment," said Krstić.

The opposition Democratic Party (DS) reacted to the news to say that the resignation was "nothing but a farce," aimed at drawing the public's attention away from the fact the government had just adopted "a catastrophic labor law."
