Solution to Labor Law deadlock "now closer"

"I believe we have moved closer to a solution," he told reporters at the government headquarters, refusing to reveal any details about the progress made and the date when the bill would be presented to parliament.

The working groups of all the sides working on the law will continue their talks, he stated, adding that the government would discuss the matter on Thursday, and that there would be a roundtable about it as well, after which things would become "much clearer."

Serbia's trade unions insist on holding a publicdebate on draft amendments to the Labor Law, announcing protests and court actions before domestic and international courts if no compromise is reached on the issue.

President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Željko Sertić, head of the Employers Union Nebojsa Atanacković and trade union leaders Branislav Čanak and Ljubisav Orbović were at the meeting as well.
