Five teenagers die in car crash near Belgrade

The accident happened around 03:45 CET on the highway leading to Novi Sad, when their car crashed into an overpass wall that was under construction.

RTS is reporting that the five, all residents of Belgrade, died instantly, and that they drove in an Audi car.

So far the identity of three of the victims has been established. They were all born in 1995, it has been confirmed.

The police did not stop traffic on the highway as they investigated the scene.

B92's reporter said that the teenagers, for as yet unknown reasons, exited the highway, drove past the barriers and entered the part of the road that is under construction.

There has been no official confirmation, but it is believed that speeding was the cause of the crash.
